Hello all!!
Just a quick update: I will no longer be teaching at the Yoga Loft in Statesville. I enjoyed my time there but I think it’s time for me to move onto new adventures and growing my practice more as a teacher!!

I am excited for this change and this opportunity to pursue new ventures.

I’m still at Snap Fitness, Lake Davidson, and will be joining the other Davidson Snap Fitness location for the month of February! So join me for classes at either spot!

I will keep y’all updated on any new studios I will be joining and I’m so so excited to continue to do the work and grow as a person and a teacher.

I will continue to be hosting private Yoga lessons and Skype Yoga lessons so feel free to reach out so we can discuss and get moving in the comfort of your own home.

Stillness.
These foggy mornings lately have me feeling inspired. Being engulfed in unknowing. In tranquility. In stillness.
Time to sit in stillness, to sit in thought and meditation. To sit in prayer and tranquility. Not being able to see what comes next. Not knowing which thoughts will arise, but allowing them to come into view, then letting them pass. Just like walking through fog, only being able to see 10 steps ahead and 10 steps back. Being here now in this moment. Unflinching. Unblinking. In this luminescent moment.

Thought I’d share this guided meditation with you all!! Take 6 minutes out of your day to come into your breath and body.

This is a reminder I use for myself. It’s so easy to look in the mirror and not like what you see. But this meditation helps remind us of the beauty we experience in this vessel. This divine vessel of love and light. You are divine. You are love. You are light. Namasté and happy full moon! 🌝🌝🌝

Something that Yoga has taught me...

I've noticed in many of my classes, I will teach Lion's Breath. I teach it like this: Take a deep breath in, through the nose. Hold it at the top for just a moment, and then sigh out through the mouth. It usually takes about 3 or 4 rounds of cueing "sigh out through the mouth" before my female students actually do this. However, the male students in class have no issue letting out a big sigh. This is just my experience in the time i've spent teaching, but I'd like to take a moment to discuss this.

From when we were little, to when we grow into adults, women are taught to be quiet, not take up space, and when we do speak, definitely DO NOT be loud. I have found through my practice and teaching of Yoga to use my voice, to take up the entire space of my mat, every square inch, and let out a loud, relieving breath if I need to. I have learned it is okay to grunt or make weird sounds when getting to different shapes or moving through transitions. I know it can be embarrassing at first, but trust me we have all made a weird noise in a Yoga class. So take up space, step up to the plate, speak out and use your voice, show up for yourself in practice and in daily life, and BE LOUD.
