Standing next to my sister Tammie’s cutout, I can’t help but remember the surreal night when she was lying in repose at City Hall. To see her there, so loved, so honored, yet knowing we would bury her the very next day, was almost too much to process. This picture captures the strangeness of grief — holding on and letting go at the same time.
