Is it a cold or allergies? Here's how to tell the difference this winter.

🧊 It's probably a cold if: Symptoms came on gradually, you have body aches or a fever, your mucus is thick and yellow or green, and it clears up within 7-10 days.

🀧 It's probably allergies if: Symptoms hit suddenly, your eyes are itchy and watery, your mucus is clear and runny, you're sneezing in rapid-fire bursts, and it's not going away.

Winter allergies are real. Dust mites love heated homes, pet dander builds up indoors, and mold grows in damp bathrooms and basements.

If your symptoms are lasting longer than two weeks or you can't figure out what's causing them, come see us. We can test for specific triggers and help you actually feel better.

Mold isn't just unsightly, it's a serious trigger for asthma and allergies. Here's what you need to know.

Mold is a type of fungus that reproduces through airborne spores in damp environments. While outdoor mold peaks from July through fall, indoor mold can occur year-round in bathrooms, kitchens, and basements where moisture accumulates.

If mold is triggering your asthma or allergies, our board certified allergists can help you develop an effective treatment plan. Read our complete mold resource: carolinaasthma.com/blog/mold-trigger-asthma-allergy/

Did you know the air inside your home can be just as polluted as outdoor air? For people with asthma and allergies, indoor air quality matters. 🏠

Pollutants like pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and chemical odors can worsen symptoms and make it harder to manage your health. An air purifier can help reduce these irritants and improve your home's air quality.

Which one is best for you depends on your budget and specific triggers. Read our blog at carolinaasthma.com/blog/best-air-purifiers/
