NEW CLASS ALERT: Join Tiffany Curtis for Meditation Monday mornings at 7:30AM EST beginning August 18th.

Gather in community every Monday morning for a meditation to ground your week. Each moment of this devotional practice serves as a guiding light, one that you can return to over and over again. We invite you to lean into this contemplative practice, meeting yourself as a sacred site of refuge.

Tiffany Curtis (500 RYT, M.Ed) is a 15+ year interdisciplinary community designer, facilitator, and former youth worker based in Lenapehoking (Staten Island, New York). The Founder of Indwell Collaborative - a culture design studio for social healing - Tiffany has created intergenerational social justice programs reaching over 20,000 people across our global community (from the United States to East Africa, from higher education to philanthropy). She received her B.A. in Communication and Black Studies from DePauw University and M.S. in Cultural Foundations of Education with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Women's and Gender Studies from Syracuse University.

Tiffany honors her place as a grief-walker and daughter of Liberia as she tends to the potent blood memory of her ancestors who migrated from Barbados and Turtle Island (the United States) back to Liberia in the late 1800s. Her vision is to help make sense of the shared impact of migratory experiences - which she also honors in her lay service as a birth worker, Reiki practitioner, and transformational coach. As a facilitator, Tiffany weaves insights from cultural studies, Afro-indigenous spirituality, the Dharma, the Gospel, and Yogic wisdom. Tiffany is a proud auntie, cousin, daughter, friend, godmother, granddaughter, niece, and sister - roles she holds as the guiding light for her soul work to reveal our paths of remembrance and liberation.

The joy you feel knowing the next Yoga Retreat for Women of Color is only one week away!

There's still time to join us at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health next weekend, July 25th-27th, for the Yoga Retreat for Women of Color: The Importance of Loving Oneself.

Join Maya Breuer, Kiesha Battles, Candace Jennings, and Marla Teyolia for a program designed to renew the body, mind, and soul of the woman of color.

Do you have time for love? Often women of color find themselves busy working and taking care of immediate family, elder parents, and others and they forget about loving themselves. This retreat will teach us the importance of loving oneself. During this wonderful summer weekend, we will focus on how to take the love we freely give to others and rain it down on ourselves.

7 adults. 23 bags. 1 beloved walker named GiGi.

From Charlotte to the Berkshires, through Pittsburgh and the Appalachian mountains — the Jeep Grand Wagoneer carried us all with grace and ease.

Plenty of space, smooth ride, and not a single bag (or yogi) left behind. We stretched, laughed, and breathed easy the whole way.

, we’re impressed. Next time, how about a van? This crew’s only getting bigger. 😉

Good news! The Yoga Retreat for Women of Color will return to the Art of Living Retreat Center on May 15-17, 2026!

Here's what some of our past retreat participants had to share about their experience:

“The Talking Stick circle at the end. It really touched me—it really is a HEALING CIRCLE. It’s healing in this place, “the women of color yoga retreat closing circle.” It automatically brought the song “In this Place” to my spirit & just filled me up 🙌🏾 I KNOW healing took place. Also just being in space sharing, laughing, learning with different women of color of all ages was so wonderful!! As well as seeing some participants from previous years💜💜💜” - Andrea

“I enjoyed the intimacy of the retreat and the opportunity to connect and grow my circle of like-minded friends. I loved the way the offerings were designed to truly nourish our bodies, minds and spirits. The labyrinth walk and the build up to it was one of my favorites. The serenity of the grounds called me to be outside in nature. I loved exploring all of the statues, totems and shrines hidden in plain sight throughout the campus.” - Cassandra

"The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, a time when nature is in full bloom and light stretches its reach into every corner. It’s a season that reminds us to honor not just what’s growing around us, but what’s growing within us. This is the season of light, abundance, and all things anew. A time when nature and all of its inhabitants have the potential to reach the peak of vitality."

Last week as we welcomed the Summer Solstice, Precious shared some of her top wellness facts and tools for staying grounded and embodied in our monthly newsletter:

Fact 1: Regulating your breath regulates your mood.
🌿 Tool: Try “box breathing” (inhale-hold-exhale-hold for 4 counts each) to soothe anxiety and create space between thought and reaction.

Fact 2: Movement is medicine.
🌿 Tool: Give yourself permission for 5 minutes of intuitive movement. Stretch, shake, or gently sway to release stored tension.

Fact 3: The body whispers before it screams.
🌿 Tool: Practice a 60-second body scan. Close your eyes and notice where you’re holding stress. Breathe into those places with gentle attention.

Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter via our website to receive monthly wisdom from the I Am Yoga Community as well as stay up to date with all of our classes and offerings.
