🐶 HANK’S DOG FOOD RECIPE 🍛
You guys know, this kid lives the LIFE. I’ve always fed him well, but after tons of research I knew improving his diet was so important. I was getting him whole food meals delivered to my house for a while, which was super convenient, but not cheap whatsoever.
I finally caved and decided to start making his own food, which has been so much better.
It costs me about $40 every 2 weeks (which used to be every 4 days for me) and takes me less than 40 minutes from start to finish, without even needing to be in the kitchen the whole time.

INGREDIENTS
⚡️Protein (I like organic ground turkey, but do what your dog likes & can handle)
⚡️Carb (I like organic brown basmati rice and kidney beans, but you could do sweet potatoes, yams, etc)
⚡️Veggies (it’s SUPER important to research which ones dogs can digest- I plan on adding more but organic peas do well for Hank and they can be frozen and cooked easily)
⚡️Fat (I use salmon oil after everything is cooked since it’s great for hair, skin, and nails)
⚡️Multi-vitamin
PS- I eyeball all of the ingredients and had to figure out what worked for him for portion sizes. There are great websites to help you figure that out too.

I love my Instant Pot for making his food. I use it to cook the rice and beans in less than 30 minutes. While those are cooking, I will make the turkey and peas in a separate pan to make sure the protein is cooked all the way through. I know dogs can handle some raw protein, but just not there yet for him. After all are cooked, I will mix it all in a baggie- I know, plastic- but it’s easily frozen and thawed when needed. Then I’ll mix it with the salmon oil and multi-vitamin. All of these I will eyeball for serving sizes and anything extra, I will freeze for next time.
