Fun Fact Friday - 60 minutes of daily exercise is the minimum for counteracting the negative effects of sitting! 💡 According to Mayo Clinic, studies have shown that people who sat for more than eight hours a day with no physical activity had a similar mortality risk to the risks posed by obesity and smoking. But 60 to 75 minutes of moderate aerobic physical activity a day offset the effects of too much sitting. 🏃‍♀️No more excuses, let's get moving!

😎 Who's ready to level up?🙌 It's time to challenge yourself to walk 8k steps per day this summer! According to the National Institutes of Health, adults who took 8,000 or more steps a day lived longer than those who only walked 4,000 steps a day. Her favorite exercise includes any type of squat or deadlift, however she has entered her triathlon era and can be found running and biking around the Lake Norman area every weekend. Her favorite activity outside of work includes riding her bike with her friends or hanging out with her nephews.

When asked what her favorite thing is about being a physical therapist, she said, “helping my patients get back to the activities they love - whether it’s running, CrossFit, picking up grandkids or walking around the block. Helping people find and maintain an active lifestyle is extremely rewarding!”
