Hola and Welcome to our page. My name is Magdalena and I love to cook! My favorite dishes to prepare are native to my home country of Colombia as well as Italy where my grandparents came from. With that mix, it was only natural that food would be a very important part of my life! I graduated with a degree in Nutrition and it has always guided my cooking: all natural ingredients, nutritious, delicious, always hand made and prepared fresh. Oftentimes I would prepare a tray of empanadas, the filled pastries that are the preferred comfort food of Latin American and the Caribbean for neighbors, friends, get togethers and they would always disappear. Almost without exception they would ask and sometimes beg for more. I would be asked why in the world I don't introduce my empanadas to the rest of the world and start my own business. Several friends started calling me "La REINA de Emanadas" or "The Queen of Emanadas". An Empanada can be filled with cheese, with chicken, with beef, with rice, with potatoes or combinations of all of these. There are thousands of other fillings as well and I often experiment with our quality control person, an "Osito" named Steve. It is often accompanied by various sauces, or "Salsas" such as Chimichurri, Lemons or Limes or "Salsa Roja" always made from fresh ingredients as well. If the discerning palate of the "Osito" is happy, we know you will be as well and return as a valued customer. Our clients are a family and we will do everything possible to see that each empanadas first ingredient will be "amor". We will have contests, awards, and giveaways and will encourage everyone to contribute to the page, share your empanada story, where you first tasted them, your most exotic empanada location, and more. Refer us to a business, construction site, catering job and you will receive delicious empanadas as our way of saying thank you. We hope to introduce more traditional foods, such as arepas, a crepe that has several fillings and is a breakfast staple and the awesome varieties of tropical fruit drinks and shakes that Colombia, the world's second most bio diverse country, are famous for.
