Does your Christmas tree make you sneeze or cause shortness of breath?

It’s unlikely that you are allergic to the tree itself, but the fragrance may be irritating. Some trees may also be home to microscopic mold spores that trigger asthma or allergies, causing symptoms like sneezing or an itchy nose.

Use an artificial tree or, if you must have the real thing, let the tree dry in a garage or enclosed porch for a week and give it a good shake prior to bringing it inside.

Think you're doing everything to manage your allergies? Some hidden triggers might be sneaking past you! Here are 5 surprising allergy triggers you may not realize:

Scented Candles & Air Fresheners – They smell great, but they can release irritants that trigger allergy symptoms.

Laundry Detergents – Fragrances and chemicals in detergents can cause skin irritation or sneezing fits.

Houseplants – They may purify your air, but mold in the soil can cause allergic reactions.

Hidden Mold – Check humidifiers, shower curtains, and windowsills for sneaky mold buildup.

Certain Medications – Some over-the-counter meds can cause allergic reactions or make symptoms worse.

Tip: If your allergies seem out of control despite your best efforts, it may be time to see a specialist! We’re here to help you breathe easier.

Allergy care works best when it’s personal.

Dr. Humphries breaks down the three real ways to treat allergies: identify triggers, manage symptoms, and when needed, use customized allergy shots. No chemicals, nothing scary, just natural extracts tailored to each patient. It’s a longer-term approach, but it brings long-term relief.

Kids with asthma don’t need limits. They need a plan.

Dr. Black reminds families that asthma shouldn’t hold any young athlete back, and with the right care, their lungs won’t be the reason they can’t chase big goals.

Olympic athletes have done it. Your kid can too.

Allergy season isn’t just a springtime thing!
Winter allergies are real, and they can wreak havoc indoors. Here’s why:

Indoor dust & mold – Closed windows trap allergens inside. Regularly clean surfaces and use an air purifier.

Dry air – Heated air indoors can dry out your nasal passages, making them more sensitive to allergens. Use a humidifier to maintain moisture.

Pet dander buildup – Spending more time indoors with pets means more exposure to dander. Brush your pets regularly and vacuum often.

Holiday decor – That box of holiday decorations? It might be full of dust and mold. Give everything a good wipe before bringing it inside.

Keep your home allergy-safe this season!
