The first step in improving your baby’s head shape is getting accurate measurements.

This allows us to truly understand what’s going on and determine whether your baby’s head shape is mild, moderate, or severe, so we can create the right plan moving forward.

✨ Early identification and treatment lead to the best outcomes

⏰ Timing matters more than most parents realize:

💚 Best time: 6–12 weeks
👍 Good time: 3–5 months
⚠️ Acceptable: 5–7 months
🚨 After 7 months, babies are more likely to require a cranial band (helmet) for improvement

📈 Why early evaluation is so important:

Head growth is fastest in the first few months of life:

• 0–3 months: ~2 cm/month
• 3–6 months: ~1 cm/month
• 6–12 months: ~0.5 cm/month

👉 The more growth we have to work with, the greater the chance we can improve head shape naturally, without the need for a helmet

Don’t wait to “see if it improves.” Early action can make all the difference.

📲 Schedule an evaluation as early as possible

✨ Top 3 Tips to Prevent Flat Head from Day 1 ✨

Helping your baby develop a nice, round head shape starts early, and it’s easier than you think 💛

1️⃣ Switch head direction during sleep
When your baby is on their back in the crib, gently alternate which way their head is turned each night.

2️⃣ Alternate arms when feeding
Whether bottle feeding or not, switch sides to keep things balanced and avoid constant pressure on one spot.

3️⃣ Limit container time
Try to keep swings, bouncers, and car seats under 3 hours per day. When using them, adjust your baby’s head position and encourage a centered (midline) head position.

Small changes = big difference 👶✨

Save this for later & share with a new mama 🤍

Noticing your baby prefers looking to one side or tilts their head one way? 👶
Noticing a flat spot on their head?
It could be Torticollis, a common condition where tight neck muscles make it harder for babies to turn their head. Over time, this can contribute to flattening of their head.
The good news: early detection treatment makes a big difference!
When Torticollis is identified and treated before 5 months of age, physical therapy can improve neck mobility, support symmetrical movement, and significantly reduce the likelihood of needing a cranial band (helmet). Babies who receive PT prior to 4 months of age have an even greater chance of improving their headship without a cranial band (helmet).
If you notice your baby always turning to the same side or developing flat spots, early evaluation can help support healthy development. DM me for more info.

“Should I be worried?”

This is a very common questions parents ask when it comes to development.

Every baby reaches milestones at their own pace, but there are certain patterns we look for that help us understand how a baby is progressing.

Things like:
• favoring one side
• difficulty with tummy time
• skipping certain movements
• stiffness or low muscle tone

Often it’s nothing to worry about, but sometimes early support can make a big difference.

The earlier we address concerns, the easier it is to help babies build strength and confidence in their movement.

If you’ve ever wondered “Is this normal?”
You’re not alone 🤍
