Summer grind mode: ON! 💪🏀 Davidson College Men's Basketball is putting in the work this off-season with some proper neuromuscular strengthening on the water.

As the official team physician for Davidson College, we're glad to see these workouts incorporated into off-season training, helping the team maintain one of the lowest in-season injury rates in Division I NCAA basketball!

Huge thanks to Justin King, Athletic Director of the men's basketball team, for putting this together.

Diane’s journey brought her over 4,000 miles from Hawaii to Charlotte, with hope and the determination to take control of her future.

Faced with the life-altering reality of multiple amputations after being diagnosed with sepsis, Diane and her husband turned to OrthoCarolina after her doctors pointed them toward Dr. Glenn Gaston and Dr. Bryan Loeffler and the Amputee Clinic at OrthoCarolina, known not only for expert care but for pioneering research that sees and supports the whole person.

Diane is now part of a groundbreaking study through the OrthoCarolina Research Institute, Inc., exploring how virtual reality may help reduce the burden of phantom limb pain for patients like her. This is why research matters. It’s not just data; it’s the reason Diane and so many other patients have a second chance at life. And it’s the heart of what we do at OrthoCarolina.

Meet Murray, a former D1 soccer player at Queens University of Charlotte Athletics and current coach at Charlotte Soccer Academy. Her sophomore year of college, she faced a major setback, tearing her ACL and undergoing reconstruction surgery by Dr. Piasecki at OrthoCarolina.

Madison's recovery took time: one and a half years of intense physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and agility training. One of her biggest challenges was rebuilding her quadriceps, which made passing her return-to-sport testing especially difficult. She did not succeed on her first attempt, but never gave up.

Her story is a reminder that recovery isn't linear and expert care can lead to an even stronger comeback!
