Are you getting through your to do list, but wondering why things feel so 'heavy'? Mental health changes don’t always show up in obvious ways. Many people assume that if they’re able to keep up with responsibilities, their mental health must be okay. This is sometimes referred to as “high-functioning” anxiety or depression—where symptoms are present, but not always visible to others. But functioning isn’t the same as feeling well. Here are some common—but often overlooked—signs to watch for:
- Constant fatigue or low energy
- Increased irritability
- Difficulty concentrating
- Changes in sleep patterns
- Loss of motivation
- Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected
- Increased anxiety or overthinking
