We’re proud to launch our Meet Our Medic series by spotlighting a true standout on our team, Joel Kennedy!

Working towards his third year with OccuMedX, Joel serves as both a Team Lead and our Training Coordinator. He’s also a proud dad to two boys, 3-year-old Caleb and 2-year-old Sam and brings that same care and dedication to his work every single day.

What drives Joel? Making a meaningful impact. From managing injuries from day one through full recovery, to helping every new medic find their footing, Joel is passionate about making a difference.

He doesn’t just lead, he teaches. Joel plays a key role in training every team member who comes through OccuMedX. Whether he’s onboarding a new hire or guiding a field crew, he lives our core values: Own, Partner, Adapt, and Elevate.

As Joel puts it, “It’s not just about knowing what to do, it’s about understanding why it matters.” That mindset transforms routine training into a true culture of learning.

Big kudos to the Atrium Health Bed Tower JV Team (DPR Construction + Rodgers Builders, Inc.) for partnering with the hard-working men and women of the Charlotte Fire Department for a proactive high-angle rescue training drill.

Emergency preparedness should always be top of mind, and this kind of hands-on collaboration ensures that when the time comes, everyone knows how to react and more importantly, how to save lives.

Proud to see our OccuMedX Group, Inc. team working alongside the rescue squad to plan, review, and train for all possible scenarios. These types of drills are what transform response into readiness. 👷‍♂️🔥💪
