Many of you are aware that I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Flag Football Coach and Athlete however, in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), let me give you all a brief glimpse of my athletic background and why I say this is my lifestyle.

At the age of 7, I began playing coed basketball for The Bomb Squad at Albemarle Road Rec. Center. While attending James Martin Middle, I played basketball and I also started playing soccer. During the off season I played AAU basketball for The Charlotte Stars and later, The Charlotte Monarchs (not pictured).

While attending West Charlotte High School (The Dub) π¦β₯οΈ, I played basketball, soccer and volleyball year round. During my senior year, my team made school history by being the first womenβs basketball team to win a state championship. πππΎ Special shoutout to my favorite cousin and teammates who are doing great things as Womenβs High School and College Basketball Coaches! ππΎππΎ

While attending WSSU πβ₯οΈ, I finally began playing rec. flag football (not pictured). I have been playing in leagues and tournaments in and outside of my home city since.

Sports have been a part of my life for years and it has blessed me not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. From learning the importance of being positive, to the importance of hard work and consistency. Special thank you to my Daddy/Coach for introducing me to basketball at a young age. As a result, I am now able to teach and coach young athletes. ππΎ

Mental Aspect
A healthy lifestyle begins with how you think and feel about yourself. You thrive off of what you feed your mind, therefore, it is vital that you develop and maintain a positive mindset. Never forget that you define who you are and what you are capable of. If you believe it, you will achieve it!
Nutrition
You are what you consume. If you eat poorly you will feel fatigued; but if you eat a balanced diet you will feel energized. It is important to practice portion control and to eat foods that will provide our bodies with the nutrients (energy, essential fats, minerals, protein, and vitamins) we need to live a healthy life daily.
Fitness
Maintain a healthy and fit body by exercising regularly. During your training with us, you will build muscle strength, improve your balance, stability, and burn calories that will create a healthier you.
By focusing on improving and maintaining your mental aspect, nutrition, and fitness, you are taking steps closer to living a healthy life and decrease your risk of developing preventive diseases.
