"This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn't come home. This is not Veterans Day, it's not a celebration, it is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom."

Memorials can be created in so many meaningful and personal ways.

At the Michigan Funeral Directors Association conference in Mount Pleasant, we had the opportunity to learn more about the beautiful work created by Sculptural Reflections. From hand blown glass gazing orbs to custom pieces designed around a loved one’s favorite colors, hobbies, or memories, each item becomes a unique tribute to the life being remembered.

Some pieces can hold cremated remains, while others have remains artistically encased within the glass itself, creating something families can display indoors, outdoors, or pass down for generations.

It was incredible to see how personalized memorialization continues to evolve in such thoughtful and creative ways.

1-4-3.
Three simple numbers that mean something we don’t always say enough… I love you.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just about taking a moment to tell someone they matter.
If you’re thinking of someone right now… this is your sign to reach out.

There’s a reason funerals matter.
In this video, Joe E. Pray shares a personal story about being surrounded by family… yet still feeling like something was missing.
It’s a feeling many families experience when they choose to skip a service or “keep it simple.” Without a time to gather, share stories, and support one another, something important can be lost.
A funeral isn’t about making a fuss. It’s about creating space to remember, to connect, and to begin healing together.
