A birth story I’ll always hold close 🤍
Scheduled induction at 5:30 PM, officially beginning at 9 PM when I arrived. We spent those early hours resting, hydrating, nourishing her body, and using gentle position changes — preparing for the marathon ahead.
At 7:49 PM she was 1.5 cm and 60% effaced. At 9:20 PM we began a mechanical induction with a Foley balloon, followed by Pitocin at 10:30 PM. After laboring for hours, she chose an epidural and allowed herself deep, restorative rest.
By 3:00 AM she was fully dilated.
At 3:24 AM, her baby was born.
The room was calm, powerful, and filled with trust. Watching this mama advocate for herself while remaining flexible was truly beautiful. Her partner showed up in every way, and the nurses were absolutely incredible.
A healthy mama. A healthy baby. A reminder that birth unfolds in many ways — and all of them are worthy.
