Black History Month is a reminder that WE come from greatness.✨️

From freedom fighters to faith keepers.
From artists to activists.
From healers to hustlers.

Our story didn’t start with struggle—and it damn sure doesn’t end there either!✊🏽

We are brilliant. We are worthy. We are powerful.
Let’s celebrate our roots, our resilience, and our right to rest. 🖤✨

Joy is not denial.

Joy is survival.
Joy is medicine.
Joy is how we remember what we’re fighting for.

May you find something that makes you laugh this weekend.

The land remembers.

It remembers footsteps and prayers.
It remembers tears and songs.
It remembers who came before us.

Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is step outside, touch the earth, and remember that we belong here too.

Try to find a moment to go outside today, stand on the land, and breathe. 🌱

A question to sit with this weekend:

When was the last time you rested without feeling guilty about it?

No explaining.
No justifying.
No rushing to be productive again.

Just rest.
JUST BE🌾

Grief doesn’t always look like crying.

Sometimes it looks like being short-tempered.
Sometimes it looks like pulling away.
Sometimes it looks like being tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix.

A lot of us learned to keep going instead of slowing down to feel what hurts.

If you’ve been feeling “off” for a while, it might not be burnout.
It might be grief asking to be seen. 🖤

Sometimes I think Black women don’t realize just how much we carry.

We carry families.
We carry communities.
We carry history.
We carry futures.

And somewhere along the way, we learned that rest was something we had to earn.

Today, I just want to remind you — you don’t.
You are allowed to rest simply because you are human.

If all you do today is breathe and get through the day, that is enough. 🤎

To the organizers.
To the activists.
The healers.
The teachers.
The mamas.
The aunties.
The community builders.

The world shifts because of you.

This is your reminder that your work matters — and so does your rest. 🤍

Beloved community, I won’t be going live today due to platform limitations while your girl is still figuring out these social media buttons and algorithms — clearly I need a Gen Z intern at this point 😂 — but I’ll be sharing footage with you shortly. Thank you for your grace, patience, and presence. 🤎

As we move toward the end of this week, let this be your reminder:

You are allowed to change course.
You are allowed to rest before you’re exhausted.
You are allowed to choose yourself—again and again.

Healing doesn’t require urgency.
It requires honesty and gentleness.

🖤 I’ll see some of you this evening.

A gentle reminder 🌿

I’ll be going LIVE on FB tomorrow evening at 7p EST to reflect on 2025 and talk about self-correction as we move into 2026—not from a place of shame, but from care.

We’ll begin and end with grounding and breathwork, and hold space for what this season has asked of us—especially as Black women and those carrying collective grief.

Come as you are.
Rest is allowed.

✨ Join me tomorrow evening.

Feel free to drop a 🌿 if you plan to join.

Peace Family🌿

It’s been a while since I’ve shown up here, and I want to begin gently—without explanation, apology, or urgency.

Over the coming year, Tranquil Quietude will be a space where we talk honestly about:
• Rest and softness for Black women
• Grief (including the kind we don’t always have language for)
• Trauma and the wisdom of the body
• Children’s emotional wellness
• Climate grief, environmental justice, and care for those holding the future

This page will hold reflections, education, grounding practices, and invitations to pause—especially for those doing justice-rooted work in a world that rarely allows rest.

✨ I’ll also be going LIVE this Friday evening to reconnect, share what’s ahead, and talk about why rest and wellness are essential for this season we’re in.

If you’ve been here before—welcome back.
If you’re new—there’s space for you too.

🖤 I’m grateful to be in community again.

If you’re comfortable, drop a 🌿 to say hello.
