🐴 Did you know horses naturally groom each other right at this spot?

GV 14 is located near the withers and is one of my favorite points to work on horses. It supports relief for shoulder, neck and back tension and is also a powerful calming point. No wonder horses seek out this exact location when they groom each other! Nature always knows. 🧡

Acupressure works with the body's natural energy to support comfort, relaxation and overall wellness. Watch for the release a lick, yawn, chew or deep breath tells you the point has been activated!

🐴 Show season is here, is your horse ready?

If you've ever pulled into a showground and felt your beautifully trained horse completely disappear on you, this one's for you.

Show anxiety is one of the most common challenges performance horse owners face, and the frustrating truth is that most of the things we instinctively reach for, more drilling, more lunging, more pressure, can actually make it worse.

In our latest blog we're diving deep into why horses get anxious at competitions, what's actually happening in their nervous system, and how acupressure can help shift them out of that threat response and back to you, on the ground or right from the saddle.

We're covering the specific calming points every rider should know, how to use them, and how consistent bodywork builds the kind of genuine confidence that shows up when it matters most.

Spring brings change and animals feel it too. This is a time when the body is adjusting.

As the seasons shift, you may notice:
• Increased sensitivity
• Changes in movement
• More reactivity or tension

Supporting the system now, through acupressure, movement, diet and thoughtful care, can help maintain balance as this season shift occurs.

Acupressure supports the immune system, musculoskeletal system, and emotional health. It encourages the body to heal itself and regulate itself. We offer in home services in the greater Charlotte area. We also online courses for owners and professionals if you are looking to take part in your pets health and create a stronger bond with them.

FAQ: "How often should my horse get acupressure or red light therapy?" 🐴

Great question! The answer depends on your horse's needs:
🌟 New Clients (Initial Balance): Every other day for 2-3 weeks to establish balance and address built-up tension
🌟 Performance/Training Horses: 1-2 sessions per week for optimal recovery and performance support
🌟 Injury Recovery: Every other day for 2-3 weeks initially, then weekly or monthly maintenance as improvement occurs
🌟 Maintenance/Wellness: Weekly to monthly sessions to prevent tension buildup and support overall health
🌟 Senior Horses: Bi-weekly to monthly for arthritis, circulation, and comfort

Consistency is key! Just like massage for people, regular bodywork prevents issues before they become problems. Ready to create a maintenance plan for your horse?

Every session starts before any hands-on work begins. It starts with understanding the horse in front of me.

When I arrive, I begin by talking with the owner, learning the horse’s history, current concerns, behavior changes, and any patterns they’ve noticed. This helps guide the direction of the session from the very beginning.

From there, I move into a physical and energetic assessment:
• Observing posture, movement, and areas of tension
• Palpating the body for sensitivity or restriction
• Assessing along the Bladder Meridian to identify energetic imbalances

These findings help me build a session plan that is specific to that horse, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Once I’ve identified the areas that need support, I begin the session using: targeted red light therapy and acupressure point work with my AcuGlow Torches (photopuncture).

Each session is designed to support both the physical body and the nervous system, helping the horse release tension and come back into balance. Sessions are approximately 1 hour, allowing time for the horse to process and respond throughout.

No two sessions are the same, because no two horses are the same.

Spent some time at the Global Pet Expo this week and it did not disappoint.

It’s always inspiring to see what’s new in the industry, connect with like-minded professionals, and continue learning so I can better support the animals I work with.

Also got to hang with Ernie from

Grateful for opportunities like this that help me continue growing in my work.

GV-14 is one of my favorite regulatory points at the base of the neck.

You’ll find it between the 7th cervical and 1st thoracic vertebrae — right in the area where horses naturally mutual groom each other. That alone tells you something about how soothing this spot can be.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, GV-14 is often used to support:
• Heat patterns and overheating
• Nervous system regulation
• Spooking or heightened reactivity
• Spinal and neurological balance

In this reel, you’ll notice two clear releases while I’m holding the point. Those small shifts matter. They’re signs the body is processing and settling.

Points like this are not a replacement for veterinary care in cases of heat stroke or neurological conditions. But when used appropriately, they can be a beautiful part of a well-rounded wellness program.

If you’ve ever wanted to feel more confident using acupressure for your own horse, our online courses help you understand how acupressure works and how to find important points like this.

Client Story: Releasing Trauma Through Bodywork 💙🐴

"I did a 5-session package with Stephanie for my mare who has a lot of built-up trauma from previous homes. It was fascinating to watch each session as my horse allowed quicker releases and relaxed into the pressure points accompanied by red light therapy.

During our last session, my mare held tension related to worry—her pasture mate had been on stall rest and she was anxious anytime he wasn't in sight. After releasing that spot, she seemed so relieved.

She's always a firecracker after each session! I think she genuinely enjoyed the work and appreciated this different approach to releasing trauma.

I'll definitely be reaching out for another package." - Gabby N. ⭐

This is exactly why I do this work. Watching horses release emotional holding patterns and find relief is incredibly rewarding.

Does your horse carry tension from past experiences? Red light therapy + acupressure can help.

Acupressure can be used to support overall wellness in dogs.

By stimulating specific acupoints along the meridian system, we can encourage circulation, support the nervous system, and promote balance within the body.
Each session is adapted to the individual dog — watching their responses and adjusting as needed.
