Alcoholism, addiction and depression drove me to seek many different modalities of healing. I tried therapy and counseling along with attending Alcoholics Anonymous. Therapy was never a good fit for me, but AA did provide a community of sobriety. But I quickly learned that I was seeking to address the root of my problem and AA just wanted getting me there. The next road that I traveled was trying
to heal through alternative medicine and modalities. I learned a great deal about the body and mind when I was doing all sort of cleanses that included becoming a raw vegan for 6 months. I tried hypnotherapy, reiki, exercise, massage, acupuncture, and more. I was becoming quite seasoned in the world of holistic medicine, but I still struggled with addictive behaviors and alcohol kept running my life. Ayahuasca came to me in a dream in January of 2012 when I was attending Maharishi University (studying sustainable living and practicing transcendental meditation) in Fairfield, Iowa. Over the next year, I was being prepared emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically by my spiritual team to work with the medicine. My mind was being re-structured in such a way so that my psyche would be able to receive the monumental shifts that would take place with ayahuasca. Three of those months were spent living on Ho Chunk Indian Reservation in Nebraska growing food for the community and working with the Spiritual Elder named Warner. It was exactly one year later when I sold all of my things to attend a retreat in the high Andes of Peru. In my first ceremony, I felt (for the first time) that I was touching "home." I felt connected with that part of myself who had been calling me closer for so long; that quiet voice in my head that was showing me what is actually happening behind the veil and wants me to feel Truth. After the second ceremony, I was approached by the shaman and the translator. He told me that I was seeing and experiencing the "behind the scenes" elements of ceremony which puts me into more of a shaman/facilitator status. So he invited me to come stay with him in the Amazon and apprentice with the medicine. Although I felt that this was going to be my future, I was frustrated that I couldn't just be "normal". Overall, the retreat was very powerful for me, but I went home knowing that the alcoholism had not been addressed. After a second near death experience involving a fractured skull from a motorcycle accident (hitting a car that was turning when I was going 45 mph and not wearing a helmet and yes I was very intoxicated), my attention and commitment was fully on healing. When I went back to Peru for another retreat, my ceremonies more specifically addressed the underlying reasons for my obsession with drinking. It was more complex than I had realized, but it also taught me about the grander aspects of my soul's journey and how it all comes into play. Once again, I was called to apprentice with the medicine and this time I answered the call by selling all of my things and moving to Peru for a period of time. I spent many dedicated and deeply challenging years working with ayahuasca that have paid dividends. I have reconnected with my Soul, recovered my Truth, reclaimed my Spirit and embraced my sacred journey here on Earth. Please note that this is a journey and not a destination. I am an ayahuasca facilitator, coach and teacher. I have been training with a Peruvian shaman since 2013. After many years of experience working with the medicine as well as facilitating and guiding others in this powerful healing, I believe that it is critical that people have a thorough understanding of how to best approach ayahuasca. Now more than ever, the medicine becoming more available which also brings a tremendous opportunity for misuse and misunderstanding. It is also critical to have a strong integration process available as these experiences are nothing to take lightly. I am a father of five incredible human beings and a husband to an amazing wife. All of the information that I carry and offer to others come from direct experience. I have been blessed with many life challenges and have received the profound gifts that come with those challenges. I believe that Love is the most powerful force in the Universe. It is our Divine Birth Right to remember our Higher Spiritual Truths and embody them with Inner Peace and Unconditional Love. I am humbled and honored to serve as a guide for those on this sacred path of self discovery. I am also here to be a representative for Ayahuasca and my Sacred lineage - The Divine Science (La Ciencia Divina) so that those working with this powerful medicine can safely and effectively obtain the most benefits from this life changing experience.
