I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted here…but, life! 🤷♀️ Spring is always so beautiful, and gives me such great energy that is positive, renewing, and based in a growth mindset. These vibes happen for so many reasons. Although spring has ALWAYS been the busiest season of my life, I somehow thrive during this time. Whether it is because I have a choice or not, there is a strong connection between where my soul and mind are, that strongly aligns with all of the new growth and flourishing signs that springs brings.
In a very odd way, chaos and staying busy brings calmness and meaning to my life. The longer I sit still, the more I overthink, and the less proactive and productive I become. I remind my students, and more relevant, my collegiate athletes, that I was always way more productive, the best grades I made were when I was in season. I don’t do well with unstructured time or down time. I need routine, schedules, consistency. Spring, for me, has always been a time to reset.
One practice I would love to get back to regularly, is grounding. If you aren’t familiar with this practice, you should most definitely check it out! 20 minutes a day, bare feet (which is how I would roll 24/7 if ya know it wasn’t for professionalism and, eww, germs) in the grass, ground, whatever is most easily accessible. It is amazing how this practice can reset your mind, your outlook, your emotional, physical, and mental health. It truly helps bind you with the physical realm we all live in.
As a special educator, I use various grounding techniques to regulate students and help return them back to their baseline, whether that is physically, emotionally, socially, or mentally. Pausing to reset the brain is HUGE! This is one small way you can initiate tha process.
5 out of 5 ⭐️ Highly recommend.
