There is injustice. Searing, heart ripping, injustice. It’s around us, sometimes within us, and often, it’s palpable...Like a candle we can’t quite blow out. And denying the injustice or denying the pain that we see and feel is not a realistic choice. It’s a choice some make, but more often than not, not a great choice. Only a choice that leads to more suffering.
And yet, YET, there is beauty. People standing up, shouting, protesting, speaking up. There’s awe inspiring beauty in the natural world. There’s people who light our fire, people we draw inspiration from. There’s community. Remember to look, around the corners, and I swear, community is still there.
So we show up. We take breaks when we need to. Maybe we amend our practice, we allow for the tears, or laugh from deep in our belly. We continue to feel.
We’ll show up here for yoga. We’ll keep our doors open. We’ll make space for community, for the soul searching, for the quizzical. We’ll be wonderful, we’ll be mundane, we’ll be glorious. We’ll keep showing up…because that’s what we do.
