Happy Mother’s Day to the bio moms, bonus moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, grieving moms, hopeful moms, chosen moms, pet moms, grandmothers, aunties, and the women who mother through love alone.

To the women holding tiny hands, answering midnight calls, carrying invisible mental loads, healing childhood wounds while raising children differently, nurturing homes, rescuing animals, building safe spaces, and loving fiercely every single day…this day belongs to you too.

Motherhood is not one story. It is sacrifice, softness, survival, chaos, comfort, strength, tenderness, and resilience in a thousand different forms.

Today we celebrate all of it.

Bella (my 10 year old) has been wanting to get a terrarium so imagine her delight when I told her that Take Root Studio was holding a terrarium creation class! From the moment we walked in, through the entire class and the ending….the entire vibe was incredible! Everything was relaxed and positive and the energy in their space was just phenomenal! We had such a ✨lovely✨ time!! Heads up for anyone in the Cleveland TN area, they host many amazing events like this as well as carrying some incredible items so definitely check them out! We will be back again very soon 💜

I’m starting to feel more like myself.

Today’s healing has looked like another cup of Sun Kissed Aura tea, time stretched out in the sun, and washing every stitch of my bedding—including the pillows. There is something deeply restorative about fresh sheets, warm sunlight, and the decision to care for yourself with gentleness instead of self recrimination.

I’ve also been burning my favorite candle from my beautiful friend at Solstice Vibrations LLC and anointing with the energetic transmutation oil from my beautiful friend at Fortuna's Favor, focusing my intention on healing, clearing what no longer serves me, and making space for good things to take root.

Self-care is often portrayed as something glamorous, but more often it looks like listening to your body, cleaning your space, drinking your tea, and surrounding yourself with the scents and rituals that remind you you are worth caring for.

I’m not completely back to normal yet, but I am feeling significantly better tonight.

Sometimes healing happens in dramatic breakthroughs.

And sometimes it happens in sunlight, fresh sheets, candlelight, ritual, and a warm cup of tea. 💜

Not every kind of healing looks beautiful.

Sometimes it looks like tangled hair. Pale skin. Sitting in the sun with your eyes closed because your body has been fighting a nasty respiratory illness for days and you’re trying to remember what warmth feels like again.

I think we’re taught to only show ourselves when we’re polished. Productive. Glowing. “Better.”

But there is something sacred about this too.
The slowing down.
The quiet.
The choosing to sit in the light anyway.

The Impertinent Woman was never built on perfection.
It was built on survival. On softness reclaimed. On small rituals that help us come back to ourselves a little at a time.

Lately, mine has been sunlight… and endless cups of Sun Kissed Aura tea.
And honestly? Both have been medicine.
