We want to clear something up about our Safe Haven Baby Box. There’s a social media post circulating that an infant was recently surrendered in the past week or so at Fire Station 6, sparking questions. A baby was surrendered back in March 2025 and that’s the only case we’ve had up to this point. We appreciate any posts that help get the word out to the public about the Chattanooga baby box, but we did want to clarify things so there’s no confusion.

With all of that said, our baby box remains open and operational. It’s a great resource that saves lives. It’s safe and it’s anonymous. There’s no cameras. No questions. Temperature controlled for the baby. Moms and dads in crisis are not alone. It’s there if you need it. Chattanooga Fire Station 6 is located at 4510 Bonny Oaks Drive.

When people feel respected, heard, and valued, it can change everything.

In the worlds of mental health, addiction, and recovery, these moments of connection can be a lifeline. A simple check-in, a shared story, or a moment of genuine compassion can remind someone they matter and they’re not alone.

You never know the impact your kindness might have!

Sometimes, that show of kindness, it’s the light someone needs to keep going, to feel hope again, and to take that next step forward. ❤️🖤

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
