The Chelmsford Rotary is part of Rotary International, the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Sel
f. Through it's fundraising activities, the Chelmsford Rotary supports local charitable organizations such as the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Camp Paul and Habitat for Humanity. In addition, we also recognize and sponsor the Chelmsford High School "Students of the Month", provide scholarships to CHS students, organize and staff local Red Cross blood drives and provide refreshments for the Veterans Day ceremonies. Internationally we support literacy and health programs in countries where these resources are lacking. Together with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rotary International works to eradicate polio in developing countries.
