New research reveals a hopeful trend: people diagnosed with dementia are living longer than before. An international study of over 1.2 million older adults found improved survival rates in regions like the UK, South Korea, and Canada—thanks to earlier diagnoses, better treatment, and more tailored care. 🧠💙

“These findings are essential for helping families plan care and for health systems to prepare for dementia’s growing impact,” says Professor Hao Luo, who led the study. Still, not all countries saw the same gains. In New Zealand, for example, a shift in how dementia is diagnosed may be leading to later, more severe cases—and higher mortality.

Next, researchers plan to explore how other health conditions affect dementia outcomes. The takeaway? Early detection and strong care strategies matter—and they’re making a difference worldwide.

Elon Musk says he’s taking on the two-party system—and forming the America Party. While the tech billionaire claims it’ll be easy, political veterans and election experts say otherwise. Ballot access, signature requirements, and campaign finance laws make launching a third party in the U.S. a massive undertaking—possibly harder than sending someone to Mars.

So far, the idea is mostly tweets and talk. The party isn’t registered, and Musk hasn’t laid out a clear platform beyond vague nods to “disrupting” politics. Still, advisers are reportedly eyeing a handful of 2026 races and testing the waters through a super PAC. Whether this becomes Musk’s next big move or fizzles like past third-party attempts (à la Perot or No Labels) remains to be seen.

Could Musk actually shake up Washington? Maybe—but it’ll take more than AI logos and social media polls. Until then, the America Party lives in the realm of X threads and speculation. 🇺🇸

You might picture successful people sprinting through the weekend—biohacking their mornings, crushing goals before brunch. But truthfully? The most successful people I know slow way down. They protect time to connect with their mind, body, and heart—not just their inbox. Think vision boards and couch naps. Clarity and quiet.

That doesn’t mean throwing out all your good habits for two days. Instead, it’s about balance: planning a little, resting a lot, and checking in with the version of yourself you’re still becoming. Say no to things that drain you. Reconnect with people who believe in you. Pick up a hobby that makes your brain or body light up—or both.

And if your weekend ever feels like chaos in disguise, try a brain dump. List out what feels heavy, then fill your energy bucket with what lifts you up—dancing, sun, fresh flowers, solitude, whatever works. The goal isn’t to “win” the weekend. It’s to end it feeling a little more like yourself.

After giving birth to her first baby, Lindsay Herriott felt off—swollen, breathless, heart racing. Her symptoms were brushed off as “new mom stress,” but when she started coughing up blood, she knew something was seriously wrong. She drove herself to the ER and was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia, a dangerous condition that can strike after delivery and often goes unrecognized.

Her second pregnancy brought more of the same—plus a terrifying pulmonary embolism. Thanks to her persistence and the care of a trusted cardiologist, Lindsay got the help she needed. But many don’t. Postpartum complications are real, and they can be life-threatening—even in “healthy” pregnancies.

Now, Lindsay’s sharing her story to raise awareness: Trust your gut. You know your body. Advocate for yourself, especially after birth. Preeclampsia isn’t over once the baby arrives—it’s a red flag for future heart health. 💗

A former Justice Department lawyer just blew the whistle on what he says was a deliberate Trump-era effort to defy the courts and deport people without due process. Erez Reuveni says he watched colleagues get forced to choose between following the law or following political orders—and when he tried to speak up, he was fired. Now, he’s coming forward with texts, emails, and firsthand testimony that paint a chilling picture of justice gone off the rails.

Reuveni says hundreds of migrants—including a man wrongly deported to El Salvador—were secretly flown to a max-security prison without proper legal review. Even when federal judges pushed back, DOJ leadership allegedly pushed harder, with one official reportedly saying they’d just “say f*** you to the court.” The story isn’t just about immigration—it’s about what happens when people in power decide rules don’t apply to them.

The documents are now with Congress. And while DOJ leadership is denying it all, the receipts tell another story. Whether you’re watching for the law, human rights, or democracy itself, this is one of those moments that makes you stop and ask: if this can happen behind closed doors—who’s really safe?

This year, over 2 million Americans will hear the words no one wants to: “You have cancer.” If someone you love is facing this diagnosis, you might be wondering how to show up in the right way. Here are 5 key things survivors and advocates say matter most:

1. Don’t disappear.
Cancer ghosting—when friends go silent—can hurt more than treatment. Even if you don’t have the perfect words, your presence matters. A simple “I’m here for you” goes a long way.

2. Skip the comparisons & platitudes.
No “My grandma had cancer and…” or “You’ll beat this!” Everyone’s experience is unique. Instead, try: “That really sucks. I’m here to listen.”

3. Be specific in how you offer help.
Rather than “Let me know if you need anything,” say, “Can I bring dinner Tuesday?” or “Want me to drive you to your appointment?”

4. Keep supporting them after treatment.
Survivorship doesn’t end with the last chemo session. Keep checking in. Keep listening. Keep showing up.

5. Advocate and share.
Let them know you scheduled your own cancer screening or donated to research. It’s a quiet but powerful way to honor their journey.

Show love by being present, thoughtful, and real. 💛

More than 100 lives have been lost in catastrophic Texas flooding over the July 4th weekend—including at least 27 campers and staff at Camp Mystic. 🌊💔 As questions mount, officials admit: there was no local flood siren system in place, despite years of warnings.

Emergency alerts didn’t reach many until it was too late. Forecasts from the National Weather Service predicted heavy rain—but not the 20 inches that fell in hours, pushing the Guadalupe River up 34 feet. Some local officials blame bad forecasts. Experts say NWS got it right—but budget cuts and staffing shortages made communication and coordination harder.

Now, lawmakers are scrambling to investigate what went wrong. Could this tragedy have been prevented? And will it finally prompt the action rural counties like Kerr desperately need?

🧠✨ A single brain scan can now reveal how fast you’re really aging—and it might predict your future health.

Researchers from Duke, Harvard, and Otago have developed a powerful new tool, DunedinPACNI, which utilizes MRI data to identify early signs of dementia and chronic disease years before symptoms appear.

People with faster aging scores had weaker memory, more frailty, and were up to 40% more likely to die early. This tool works across age, race, and geography, offering a global glimpse into how our brains and bodies age together. It could help scientists finally intervene before diseases like Alzheimer’s take hold.

With the number of people over 65 set to double by 2050, early detection is more urgent than ever. This brain-scan breakthrough could be a game-changer for public health—and the future of aging itself.

Coolness: we know it when we see it—whether it’s Bowie in a perfectly tailored suit or Charli XCX dropping experimental bangers. But what actually makes someone cool?

A new global study says it comes down to six traits: extroversion, hedonism, power, adventure, openness, and autonomy. Researchers surveyed nearly 6,000 people across 12 countries and found surprising consistency in what cool looks like, from Tokyo to Tucson.

But there’s a twist. While cool people were seen as edgy and independent, good people were described as warm, calm, conscientious, and traditional. In other words, being cool doesn’t always mean being kind—and vice versa.

So should you chase cool? Maybe not. Studies suggest that the risky behaviors that make teens seem cool might backfire in adulthood. Long-term wellbeing, researchers argue, has more to do with connection than charisma. Being good—or just having one solid friend—might actually be the cooler move. 😎✨

The kids are not just alright—they’re running for office. From TikTok-ready campaigns to fiercely values-driven platforms, Gen Z and millennial candidates are stepping into the political arena in growing numbers, determined to be more than a voting bloc. They want seats at the table.

While Congress remains one of the oldest in history, young leaders like Zohran Mamdani in NYC and Wyatt Gable in North Carolina are proving that age doesn’t equal irrelevance—and youth doesn’t equal inexperience. Their campaigns speak fluent internet, but their goals? Deeply practical: housing, education, financial literacy, and a government that reflects the people it serves.

In a country where nearly 70% of voters support age limits for elected officials, the rise of young candidates isn’t just refreshing—it’s necessary. Leadership shouldn’t be a lifetime appointment. Sometimes the best ideas come from people who just got their first apartment. 🗳️
