I do not know when I started practicing Reiki.
Officially, I completed my Reiki training in 2020, but like my yoga practice, I was practicing long before I knew I was "actually" practicing.
What do I mean by that?
With yoga, before I knew breathing techniques were considered yoga, I was practicing deep, slow and meditative breathing.
Before I realized deep breathing coordinated with stretching and movement was a version of yoga...
I was practicing deep breathing with movement.
And before I realized what energy healing was, I was practicing this in a way that was intuitive to me.
Being trained as a Reiki master was the way to put an exact organized method to what was already intuitive to me.
I'll be up front, Reiki is still a little bit of a mystery to a lot of people.
Harvard Medical School and Mass General Hospital have studies on Reiki proving it works....
It reduces blood pressure, stress levels, and even goes as far to reduce chronic pain and help facilitate long-lasting healing.
The "but" in this situation is that although these studies prove that it DOES work....
The uncertainty still lies in HOW and WHY this energy medicine practice works.
From my own experience, I have had profound experiences with Reiki and I'm excited to get to share more with you here about this practice.
