Yesterday, December 13th, marked 5 years of Casita Miel y Canela.

Life has been full and heavy lately and I honestly didn’t have it in me to plan or celebrate. But spirit had other plans.

When I got the message confirming I’d be vending at December’s Witch-O-Rama, I felt called to offer Babalu Aye (San Lázaro) limpias for health and prosperity. About a week later, one of my god sister announced she’d be hosting a class on Babalu Aye. Which happens to be the day of my anniversary and right before Witch-O-Rama. Nothing happens by coincidence.

Nearly four years ago, Babalu Aye came to me, guiding me to create this spiritual tool to offer limpias. Offering them now, surrounded by community and spirit, felt exactly as it should.

I spent my anniversary held in sisterhood, laughter, prayer, and connection. A beautiful reminder of why Casita Miel y Canela exists.

Five years of growth, healing, and trust. I’m full of gratitude to everyone who has walked this path with me, to the ancestors and spirits who continue to guide this work, and a very special thank you to my god sister Gaby for creating such a magical, aligned space.

Donation-based limpias will be offered by Rocio Rosie Villavicencio, the owner/creator of Casita Miel y Canela and co-creator of Conmigo. Rocio is a bruja, curandera, and medium carrying the healing traditions of her maternal lineage. Through spiritual cleanses and plant remedies, Rocio holds space for deep cleansing, balance, and ancestral connection.

We will also have the pleasure of having Rocio’s magical mama, join us in offering limpias.

This is a pay what you can, get what you need gathering. Services will be first come, first serve. In light of everything our communities have been experiencing, this event is for BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ communities to come together, rest, and heal.

This is an offering to honor our Ancestors, tap into our Ancestral strength and courage, and lead with the seeds of resistance they have planted within us.
