Janet has worked extensively in family therapy and has a passion for helping to create supportive, thriving families.

The goal of her sessions are to provide you with education on the mental health symptoms your child/teen is exhibiting, how to recognize them, how they may present at different age ranges, teaching you the coping skills to help your child at home to practice skills learned in sessions, and to facilitate communication between yourself and your child to create a healthier environment.

As a Mexican American who has been in therapy herself, Janet has experienced how important it can be to connect with a therapist that understands the ins and outs of cultural norms as well as concerns that can arise such as anxiety, co-dependence, boundary issues, and difficulty with identity among other things. She has worked at cultural centers serving different populations and ethnicities and uses a culturally sensitive approach to therapy.
