Feeling lost doesn’t always mean something is missing.

Sometimes it means your old reference points no longer fit — and your nervous system hasn’t updated yet.

When the emotional charge of “lostness” is high, the brain goes into protection mode. Curiosity shuts down. Exploration feels unsafe.

This is where neuroplasticity work matters.

When the emotional response attached to feeling lost is gently reduced — not suppressed, not analyzed — the nervous system settles. And when safety returns, something interesting happens:

Curiosity re-emerges.
