This is a super quick and healthy lunch or snack option to keep your blood sugar balanced and your hormones happy!

- Mary’s GF seed crackers
- Olives for healthy fats
- Nuts for protein and fat
- Red grapes & green apple as fruit
- Hummus for protein
- Full fat or DF cheese, don’t use low fat cheese (dairy can be inflammatory and also contain estrogen, so if you have hormone imbalances, you may want to go dairy free for a bit)

This goes along with a Mediterranean style diet of snacking, which is best for your hormones!

Hi guys! I am getting back into coaching and writing after taking the last few years off to be a full-time Mom during the pandemic.

So I wanted to write a blog post about how I overcame my hormone imbalances and got pregnant naturally at 39 because I have been asked many times if I had IVF.

"I didn’t always live a healthy lifestyle.

Hormonal Imbalances can cause so many horrible symptoms in our bodies!

It took me FOREVER to figure out the root cause of my symptoms. I kept on focusing on the wrong things like dieting, detoxes and hard workouts....all of which can make your imbalances even worse! Who knew?! I was always told eat less and workout more to lose weight and feel better. But that is exactly the opposite of what we should be doing to feel better when our hormones are out of whack.

We should be eating more (healthy food), not less to balance our blood sugar levels. We should be eating lots of healthy fats and proteins to feed our hormones properly. We should be doing restorative exercise, not hardcore workouts to reduce our already high stress (cortisol) levels.
_

Two years ago today, I drove up from Arizona with my Mom .interiors and moved to Vancouver, BC to live with Dan 💗

Some people were like what are you doing moving to another country for someone you met in Thailand a year ago and have had a long-distance relationship ever since?!

But I followed my intuition and just went for it...and thank god I did! Thank god I didn’t listen to the people that said it wasn’t going to work out because he lived in another country, or because of our age difference, or because I was moving my life out of Arizona and the US. And thank goodness for the friends and family that did encourage me, I love you! ❤️

Now I am an official resident of Canada, Dan and I are beyond happy together and we are having a baby boy! 💙
_
If you know me, you know that I take risks in life...but I have mostly just followed my intuition. (And when I didn’t listen to my intuition, I knew it, and that’s when anxiety, sickness, addictive/destructive behaviors, stress, weight gain and hormonal balances would happen).
__
I definitely made some poor choices but I learned from all of them. I just know that I will never regret that I didn’t take those risks...or regret that I listened to what someone else told me to do instead of listening to my inner voice.
_
The reason I am saying this is because you do you. Listen to your intuition. Take risks and get out of your comfort zone if you want to. Don’t listen to others peoples judgements or the naysayers...follow what your gut and do what you really want to do. What’s the worst that could happen...you just learn from it and move on.

Let’s talk about coffee and caffeine for a minute....

If you feel burned out, fatigued, anxiety-ridden, bloated belly, have thyroid or adrenal issues, PMS, infertility or have menopause symptoms...then strong caffeine like coffee is NOT for you!!!
_
If you are a coffee addict, I know you don’t want to hear it because that is how you get through the day. It’s the one thing you look forward to. I totally get it.
_
But coffee releases your stress hormone cortisol and puts you in a state of fight or flight. That’s what is giving you a high when you drink it. But if you are in a constant state of fight or flight with work, kids, travel, coffee and anything else going on...then your body is on overdrive and will eventually give out over time. That’s when the fatigue sets in, hair loss, aging skin, dry skin, bloated belly, anxiety...
_
My clients have asked me what are good substitutes. Well matcha tea, green tea or completely cutting all caffeine out if you really want to see an improvement of your symptoms.
_
But Matcha Tea is the best though because it is LOADED with antioxidants which slows down the aging process and L-Theanine which eases stress.
_
So if you feel like p**p on a regular basis, then just try it for two weeks and see how you feel 💚

The foods we eat play a big role in hormone balance. Our hormones are made using amino acids from protein and fatty acids from fats.

So healthy fats are essential to balancing your hormones and reducing your stress levels! But it is important to make sure you are eating quality foods such as organic and grass-fed. Because the better quality foods, the better quality hormones our bodies create.
_
It is also important to not eat too much of anything. Moderation is key.
_
I add a little bit of healthy fats to pretty much every meal I can to keep my blood sugars balanced, which then keeps my cortisol (stress) levels down.
_
Quick tip: if you are making or ordering a smoothie, then make sure you have some kind of healthy fat in it to balance out the sugars. Such as avocado, coconut oil, yogurt or nut butter 💗
_
