The IL ADTA Chapter’s Spring Concert at Dovetail Studios was a beautiful success!
We welcomed an audience of about 50 people and showcased ten stunning pieces. We’re proud to share that 25% of the proceeds—approximately $400—was donated to Forward Momentum Chicago, supporting free dance education for children.

The American Dance Therapy Association is hosting its 59th annual conference October 24-27, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois, on the sacred lands of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations.

Everyone enjoyed the CE event at In Touch and Motion the other week, the topic was Exploring Attunement through Creativity, and the presenters Sara Heidbreder and Ciera Shimkus were terrific! The therapists in attendance all enjoyed diving more deeply into the topic.

If you haven't heard, the ADTA conference is in Chicago this year! Oct 24-27. The planning committee is looking for volunteers for the following:

1) Planning the opening and closing ceremonies
2) Planning and helping with the Day of Service in the community
3) Helping on the ground with check ins for presentations and the conference rooms for shifts during the conference
4) Helping coordinate a Friday night on the town social event
5) Structuring and helping implement a site specific performance downtown - setting a score for other dance therapists to participate in, and getting a permit if needed.

In addition, volunteers are needed to lead morning warm-ups. The committee is meeting on Saturday, April 27 at 4pm. Email iladtachapter@gmail.com if you'd like to help out!
