Years ago, I discovered intermittent fasting and thought it would be perfect for me.
I could eat whatever I wanted and still lose weight as long as I ate within my eating window.
The first day I started I noticed I had an intense headache but figured once I ate, it would go away but it didn’t.
Instead, I actually felt hungrier so I’d eat and then eat again.
It was like I couldn’t stop eating and the headache wouldn’t go away.
I thought my body just needed time to adjust so I stuck with it.
For weeks.
But it didn’t go away.
The headaches lasted all day.
Though I got better at slowing down to eat, I still struggled around food and overeating.
Then, it started to cut into my social life.
My husband would want to go on a date and I’d say no because it was too early or late.
Or there were times where I’d say yes, but later on felt bad and guilty about doing it — simply for wanting to enjoy a good meal with my hubby.
The crazy part though is I did all this and really wasn’t losing weight. I may have looked a little less bloated but the scale was basically the same.
Which was super frustrating.
Eventually, I gave up because I was tired of the pain, the intense hunger, constantly worrying about food, feeling bad about simply eating and feeling confined to food rules that stopped me from living and enjoying life.
Now I’m down 88lbs and I’ve been able to sustain it for years — without worrying about the time of day I eat.
If you’ve been struggling with your weight for years and intermittent fasting isn’t working for you, just comment “20” and I’ll show you what you really need to lose 20lbs or more and keep it off — no fasting required.
