1. Fast or skip meals
2. Follow fad diets
3. Become a cardio warrior

The victory I didn’t know I needed. We just bought this bounce house for Aiden, he climbed in and then reached for me to get in too.

The bouncer has a 188lb limit.

I didn’t even hesitate to get in and bounce with him.

BUT I was reminded that, at one point, I wouldn’t have been able to do this.

At one point, I would have EXCEEDED the weight limit all by myself.

The old me would’ve had to say “sorry, baby, mommy can’t get in”.

Which honestly, would’ve made me feel bad because he doesn’t have any siblings and no friends I can immediately call to come over and play with him so for the most part, it’s just us (and no, we’re not having another baby).

But today, I was able to get in and play in the bounce house — all because I finally made my health a priority… and I’ve been able to keep the weight off.

This just reminds me of why I do what I do.

As mothers, we often say we’d die for our kids — but how many times do we talk about living for them?

You have absolutely no problem with losing weight. You can start a weight loss program, plug into the system and the weight falls off. But as soon as you stop following it, the scale creeps right back up. This isn’t a lack of willpower or discipline. After I regained the 66lbs, I felt horrible.

I felt weighed down. Heavy. Low energy. Like a failure. And honestly, I knew I wasn’t showing up as my best self.

But what made it worse was people started to notice my weight gain.

They’d make comments like “I see you’re gaining the weight again.”

On top of already feeling bad, I then had to worry about these types of comments.

So I stopped showing up.

I went into hiding — hoping there were no events that I needed to attend.
