I used to eat 1-2 meals per day and I was the heaviest I’d ever been.

The moment that changed everything for me:

When I decided to stop white-knuckling my hunger and actually eat.

My body was craving nourishment and though I felt it, I often ignored it.

Told myself “let me just finish this email” or whatever I was working on.

But then, something else would pop up and I’d have to put that fire out.

Before I knew it, hours had gone by.

I was ready for a lifestyle change.

I’d officially made it to the point where I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I had reached my all-time heaviest and didn’t even recognize the woman in the mirror anymore.

I felt weighed down, sluggish, no energy, constant aches, didn’t want to do things, didn’t want to be around people and felt like I wasn’t even living my life — not fully.

And I was tired.

I was tired of feeling trapped in a body that didn’t belong to me.

Tired of throwing my nervous system into overdrive with all the lose weight quick schemes.

Tired of being stressed over whether I could eat a burger or not.

Being the heaviest you’ve ever been doesn’t represent a personal failure.

It shows a flaw in the plan.

As high-achieving women, we have the tendency to internalize everything which is good because we take ownership for our actions.

But sometimes it hurts us because we think we just need to try harder.

“If I had more willpower.”
“I should’ve been more disciplined.”
“I’m just going to remove it completely so I have more control.”

Meanwhile, the plan was unsustainable from the beginning.

It didn’t take into consideration the fact that we’re busy and often skip meals so we’re simply not eating enough.

Snacking helped me lose 88lbs and keep it off.

For years I tried following the typical ‘eat less, move more’ advice and all it did was kept me stuck in the cycle of losing weight just to regain it.

Whenever I regained the weight, I took it as a personal failure.

I always tried to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Not realizing this advice just ignores human physiology and sets you up to regain the weight.

Diet culture likes to say you’re “addicted to sugar” when that’s far from the truth and ignores the deeper issue.

This is why the whole “give up sweets” rule never works for you.

Here’s the truth:

You’re not overdoing it with sweets because you’d just rather have glazed croissants every single meal for the rest of your life.

You’re overdoing it because you’re hungry.

You’ve gone way too long without eating.

And now your body is crying out for nourishment.

Most diets and weight loss programs ignore the simple fact that as a professional woman, or working mom, you’re busy.

You’re often up early.

Handling business.

I only exercise for 20-30 minutes per day because I let my nutrition do the heavy lifting for me.

When I was younger, I thought the way to weight loss was exercise.

So I’d spend all my time doing a bunch of cardio.

Only to be frustrated when the scale didn’t move — or worse, it went up!

I’d easily get discouraged and eventually give up.

The moment that changed everything for me was realizing the impact of nutrition.

You just simply cannot outrun poor eating habits.

You can try.

But the result will always be the same:

Frustration.

So instead, I dialed in my nutrition and I CHOSE to redirect all physical activity to improving my overall health (not weight loss).

This was a total game changer.

Not only did the weight fall off but it’s staying off because I don’t have so much pressure to exercise, I’m not burning myself out, I can do simple movements I actually enjoy and I can make time for it regardless of where am I.

The end result: consistency.

Now here’s the truth:

You don’t need to spend countless hours exercising.

As a professional woman and working mom, your schedule doesn’t even allow for it.

So you need to use your time wisely.

I used to think sharing pics of my food was pointless.

Then one of my clients said it’s exactly what she needed to see for her to work with me.

And I get it.

There are so many people out here either telling you to:

- give up all the foods you enjoy
- eat scraps and try to convince yourself that it was enough
- replace your real food with their prepackaged food or supplements

None of those things are sustainable.

And it’s the exact reason why so many ladies feel stuck in the trap of losing weight just to regain it.

I made a promise to myself when I lost weight that I’d do it eating REAL food.

This way, I could still eat like a real human:

- No waiting on “food” to come in the mail
- I could pick up something regardless of where I was

Undereating has become so normal, we don’t even realize we’re doing it.

As busy women, especially working moms, we’re usually tending to everything and everybody but ourselves.

We have a calendar and to-do list full of things that must get done.

Not including the emergency fires we have to put out like when your toddler ONLY wants you.

So we typically start the mornings off rushed.

Powering through the day.

And then around 3pm, we feel it.

Energy slump.
Trouble focusing.
Hunger pangs.
Irritability.
Intense cravings.
Loss of control around food.

This isn’t because we lack willpower — at this point, we’ve been demonstrating willpower all day!

It’s human physiology.

We need food to function.

The reason why all your past weight loss attempts failed was because they focused on the typical ‘eat less, move more’ mantra when the focus should’ve been on ensuring you were properly nourishing your body.

This is the difference between weight loss and sustained weight loss.
