Consider choosing a special candle, gathering items such as pregnancy tests, medical records, cards received, ultrasound pictures, journal writing, or anything that reminds you of your experience and placing it in a special place or box you can go to whenever you feel you want to connect with your baby. ๐Ÿ’ซ

As a therapist, I teach and support my clients on self-care. We hear about โ€œself-careโ€ all the time, but what does it really mean?

It means looking inward and responding to the unique needs of *your* body, mind and soul. โœจ๐Ÿ’•
Itโ€™s important not to neglect any one of these three areas. Often, I notice that the soul is the most often overlooked part of taking care of oneself.

We are inundated with practical tips on eating and sleeping well, clearing our minds through meditation and stress management, etc. These are all important- but taking care of your soul and spiritual connection is just as important, if not the most crucial.

This concept can feel foreign if youโ€™re not accustomed to tuning inward.

Aligning and tuning into all 3 aspects of self takes practice and maintenance. The goal is integration. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’œ

When someone tells me they are anxious, I know the relationship to themselves feels fragile. Their attempts to feel safety is through control and prediction. And when that doesnโ€™t work (as it never does), I help them learn to surrender and trust themselves.

Trust that they will manage hard things. That they will meet themselves in whatever challenges they face. That they will feel whatever emotions need to be felt. In fact those with anxiety are so aware, we need to remind them that this awareness can be a super power if we ground it with self trust.

Emotions are rarely our biggest issue, how we meet them is.
