Check out this week's Volunteer Spotlight with Marquita McCarter 🎉, a Patient Advocate / Community Health Worker at UChicago Medicine! Swipe to learn more about one of our most dedicated volunteers!

In her role, Marquita focuses on supporting patients who visit our Emergency Room by helping them get connected with a primary care provider or specialty services. Beyond healthcare, she also assists in linking patients to community organizations that can help meet their social needs.

It was a privilege to take part in the Black Women's Expo at McCormick Center August 1-2. Connecting with community is at the heart of what we do.

We shared diabetes education and resources, answered questions, and had meaningful conversations about health, wellness, and prevention.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth. We’re committed to empowering individuals and families with the tools and knowledge to manage and prevent diabetes.
