We’re grateful to have been a part of such a powerful experience centered around real conversations on mental health, culture, identity, and healing. Cultural awareness and mental health go hand in hand — because understanding people’s lived experiences, backgrounds, and stories is essential to creating spaces where true healing can happen.

Special shoutout to Nikki Lynette for using her artistry and platform to break stigma, spark dialogue, and advocate for mental health in such an authentic and impactful way. Thank you for allowing Mental Health Meets Hip-Hop to be part of this important conversation.

Healing through culture matters. Representation matters. Community matters. šŸ–¤šŸŽ¤āœØ

I am truly honored to receive the Health and Community Impact Award from Harold Washington Cultural Center. Thank you for recognizing the work we are doing through Just A Mile Away Mental Health Servicesļæ¼ and Mental Health Meets Hip-Hopļæ¼ to bring healing, hope, and culturally responsive mental health support into our communities.

This award means so much because it represents the power of community, culture, and collaboration. Every conversation, workshop, event, and life touched reminds me why this work matters. We believe that mental health should be accessible, relatable, and free from stigma, especially in communities that have too often been overlooked.

Thank you to the Harold Washington Cultural Center for creating a space where art, culture, wellness, and community can come together to inspire change. Thank you to my team, our partners, supporters, and every young person, family, and community member who trusts us to walk alongside them in their healing journey.

This recognition is not just for me — it belongs to everyone committed to building healthier communities through compassion, creativity, and connection.

I accept this award with gratitude, humility, and a renewed commitment to continue doing the work. Thank you again for this incredible honor.

At Mental Health Meets Hip-Hopļæ¼ we believe healing should reach every block, every family, and every voice. šŸ’ššŸŽ¤

We stepped into the heart of the Westside of Chicago to bring real conversations about mental health awareness, emotional wellness, and community healing to underserved communities that deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

Mental health is not weakness.
Checking in is strength.
Healing is community.

From trauma to triumph, we’re using culture, music, and connection to break stigma and create safe spaces where people can speak freely and heal out loud. šŸ§ šŸŽ¶

Westside, we see you. We hear you. We’re with you. āœŠšŸ¾

Mental Health Meets Hip-Hop is proud to celebrate our founder, Tatiana Lane, being recognized at the ā€œA Day in the Life of A.G. Gastonā€ Theatrical Fundraising Gala at the Harold Washington Cultural Center. This moment is bigger than an award — it’s a reflection of culture, healing, and community coming together in real life.

From the stage to the streets, from workshops to wellness spaces… we’ve been doing the work. And to be acknowledged alongside leaders impacting media, faith, technology, and philanthropy is powerful.

This is what happens when you stay committed to purpose.
This is what happens when healing meets culture.

We’re just getting started. šŸ’«

Today, Mental Health Meets Hip-Hop pulled up to Governors State University to break real barriers around medication management, mental health, and knowing your rights. This wasn’t just a session—it was a conversation about taking control, asking questions, and choosing what’s best for YOU.

Grateful to partner with Educating Our Community for creating space for truth, healing, and empowerment in the culture šŸ™šŸ¾

We don’t just talk mental health… we live it.
We don’t just manage pressure… we turn it into power.

It was an honor to witness GKMC and congratulate them on the recent Peace Executive Order—an important step toward creating safer, more supportive communities across Chicago. We also want to recognize and celebrate the powerful work of Good Kids Mad City, whose leadership and advocacy continue to amplify youth voices and drive real change in our city.

This moment reflects what’s possible when leadership and community come together to prioritize peace, opportunity, and the well-being of our young people. S/o mayor Johnson west side the best side but we love south side too 😁😁
