WARNING of impact and side effects:
Attending this event will reduce hiding, playing small, boredom, and burnout in your work life. Also, it is expected that out of attending this event you will SHINE and SHOW up this year in ways brighter, more beautiful, and impactful than ever at work. You’ll know more clearly who you are, what you’re meant to do, and you’ll feel greater permission to GLOW as a feminine leader. Side effects may include heightened smiling, dancing, inability to tolerate BS, and finally demanding a more flexible schedule that meets your natural rhythms.

BREATH CONNECTION

Towards the beginning of all the group sessions we facilitate, Amy leads us through 5-10 minutes of reconnecting with our breath, honoring our bodies, and acknowledging all it took for everyone to show up. It’s a key detail that sets the tone for connection throughout the rest of the meeting. Everyone leaves a gathering a little lighter and better for the experience. It’s honestly a cheat code having her on our team!

MAKING CONNECTIONS
Last week my family stocked the South Shore to celebrate co-founder, Dre’s birthday!

Dre typically does a “feed the people” theme for his birthday but their storefront location is under construction so he was looking for a different way to do it. Cassie called me to help identify an opportunity and I suggested ’s location since it’s in their community. A few messages were sent and then this beautiful act resulted! The whole family contributed ❤️

If you want to give and you are unsure exactly how, let me help you come up with some ideas in a FREE CONSULTATION. Link to book is in my bio ✨

NEW PODCAST INTERVIEW ✨

I was recently interviewed by on her Rewrite The Mother Code podcast to discuss how my training as a postpartum doula has enhanced the way I serve communities by using the skill of empowering others.

Take a listen! The link is in my bio. This was such a fun conversation as Gertrude is so warm and inviting and open to exploring new ideas and meanings for age-old practices.

I am so grateful for being recognized for this work. I’ve been organizing community programs for over 15 years but I’ve only recently offered my services in this way, incorporating the compassion of a doula. This is my first interview since relaunching and I initially questioned whether I communicated my messaging clearly in this conversation. Having a listen to the episode this morning, I am beyond pleased with how this turned out. Amen!

Thank you to the and teams for putting this together!

✨RELAUNCH✨

The Doula Part has relaunched with a new focus: Community Doula support to help you feed the communities you care about, in ways you love.

I have combined my 15+ years of directing, developing & managing community projects with my 3+ years of supporting families with postpartum care to birth 😉😄 this service. Believe me, my labor for launch started some weeks ago and I’ve been PUSHING to get this out in the right way (for me).

Birth and labor puns aside, I am ready for the world to experience this offering. Please follow the link in my bio to check out the new site and services.

I am ready and available to help Businesses • Organizations • Community Members effect change in communities you care about. Book a free consultation on the website’s Contact page!

I am a Community Doula.

SOUTH LOOP COMMUNITY TABLE-
I love these two! Fellow pastors from different ministries that collaborate every Sunday night to host a meal that brings people from different walks of life together for nourishment and fellowship. I was asked to cater the dinner back in 2016 and I did every Sunday for about 7 months (until I got to about 8 months pregnant) and since having kids I’ve tried to share with them opportunities to rescue prepared food and I’ll cook every blue moon.

As the early days of COVID were passing by I felt the urge to prepare a meal for the South Loop Community Table so I reached out and we came up with a bbq cookout for the last Sunday before summer break, May 31. George Floyd’s murder and the outrage that followed took place during the week leading up to the meal and by that Sunday we were told we had to reschedule to Tuesday, June 3rd.

I woke up early early on that Tuesday morning, fired up the grill on my back porch and started grilling everything. A couple of my girlfriends came by to help pack things up and Pastor Ben came to pick up what was done and headed down to the church to meet Rich and the host of volunteers that make this initiative run so smoothly every week. I followed behind not long after with additional food, texting about the best route because of all the street closures due to the social uprisings and the city’s response.

I honestly didn’t intend to write this whole story 😂 I just think this picture of us is really cool and I’ll be posting more about the work I do to feed different communities in collaboration with some really awesome people.

RESULTS ARE IN: Your donation was out here WORKIN, y’all!

If you donated to the Feeding Moms Campaign over the summer then flip 👉🏾 to see what you contributed to. Spoiler alert: it was so much more than what we set out to do!

The initial goal was to feed 600 families in 12 weeks but as with everything, circumstance changes required some pivoting. But I think what has come from that initial goal is more than what we could have imagined. Do you agree?

If you started following me here because you liked the work of the campaign, you’ll love so be sure to follow the expansion there.

I’m so proud of what I was able to accomplish with getting this going. The “I” very quickly grew to “we” because this work CANNOT be done alone or with too much ego, believe me.

It’s the many new partnerships for me!! Make sure you check out all the tagged accounts, too.
