For those of you wondering what Arbonne is all about, let me take this opportunity to tell you a little more. Arbonne is a 33 year-old, Swiss-formulated health and wellness company in the midst of going global. WHY IS THIS POWERFUL INFORMATION?
- Arbonne’s 33 year track record shows that there has been a demand for the products for three decades. Also, because network marketing allows us to reinvest in research and development instead of wasting money on advertising, retail stores, and so on, the products just keep getting better and better every year!
- The fact that our products are formulated in Switzerland is important because the standards for skincare and cosmetics are much higher there than in North America; Arbonne’s promise of delivering pure, safe and beneficial products starts with those high standards.
- And last but not least, Arbonne’s production & distribution is currently based in four countries, Canada, USA, UK and Australia, although consultants and products are available all over the globe. This is key information for consultants who can do cross-border sponsorship and essentially have Arbonne working for them around the world around the clock, but generally speaking, it just shows the demand for these products worldwide. The Arbonne Promise is: To deliver pure, safe, and beneficial products in line with our botanical tradition. At Arbonne, what does it mean to be Pure?
- Arbonne is committed to developing premium, spa-quality products free of harmful ingredients, using a combination of nature & science. Our commitment begins with research and testing to ensure that each of our ingredients meets or exceeds industry standards for purity.
- Arbonne is Vegan-certified & PETA-friendly: Our formulas are never tested on animals and do not contain animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products. If you have seen "Fight Club," the concept of stealing fat from a liposuction clinic to make soap isn't completely inaccurate, although the majority of cosmetic companies use dead animals that have been rendered (i.e. boiled and fat skimmed off the surface) to produce cheap emollient. The majority of these animals are diseased or euthanised animals from the SPCA, or good old-fashioned road kill.
- Arbonne also doesn’t use chemical dyes or fragrances. These are proven irritants but are very common & necessary for companies that need something powerful enough to mask the smell of dead animal. Arbonne's animal-free fragrances are derived from botanical sources and essential oils.
- Arbonne products are formulated without formaldehyde-donating preservatives. The European Union banned the use of formaldehyde in 2007 due to its carcinogenic properties in embalming, and recently, formaldehyde has been banned in the use of cosmetics in Sweden and Japan, two of the leading cosmetic and skincare regions. Formealdehyde has been linked to organ toxicity, developmental delays in children and unborn babies.
- Arbonne products are also made without petroleum-based ingredients such as:
Parabens - Another preservative, usually the last 4 or 5 ingredients on lots of skincare products and are also found in cancer cells. Mineral oil - The #1 ingredient in North American skincare, yet is currently illegal in Switzerland. Mineral oil is a cheap emollient obtained from petroleum by distillation. Another reason why mineral oil is banned in Swiss products is because it inhibits proper oxygen flow for the skin. At its smallest level, mineral oil molecules are still larger than the pores; when slathered on your skin, you are basically plastic-wrapping your body’s largest organ. The skin can no longer do its job; toxins that are usually excreted through the skin can’t get out, and any beneficial ingredients from your products can’t get in. Not only does this clog your pores and cause more breakouts and irritations, it also weakens your immune system, making you more prone to illnesses. Arbonne is also formulated without:
Benzene - A colorless, volatile, flammable, toxic liquid compound obtained chiefly from coal tar; used in the manufacturing of commercial and medicinal chemicals, dyes, and as a solvent for resins, and fats. Long-term exposure has been linked to anemia and cancer. Phthalates - Esters of phthalic acid and are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity). They are primarily used to soften polyvinyl chloride. Phthalates are being fazed out of many products in the United States and European Union over health concerns, which is alarming because they generally appeared in children's toys. Johnsons and Johnsons has been under scrutiny because of the amount of phthalates and the use of mineral oil in their baby products, proving that even the most trusted household names still need to have their labels read. Toluene - A clear water-insoluble liquid with the typical smell of paint thinners. It is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is widely used as an industrial feedstock and as a solvent. Like other solvents, toluene is also used as an inhalant drug for its intoxicating properties; however, this causes severe neurological harm. Can also cause irritable skin, developmental delays and birth defects. PABA - An organic compound, and is nutritionally unimportant inside the body, although it is linked to Vitamin B & is sometimes known as Vitamin Bx. Ironically, PABA aids in bacterial growth; e coli, for example, requires PABA to grow in the intestinal tract. This is just a small list of the toxic ingredients that are allowed in North American skincare products but have been banned by Arbonne. Arbonne nutrition and weight loss products are formulated without:
Artificial colours
Artificial flavours
Artificial sweeteners
Animal products
Animal by-products
Cholesterol
Saturated fats
Trans fats
Remember the Arbonne Promise? AT ARBONNE, WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAFE?
- Arbonne constantly reviews our products’ ingredients and our formulas based on the most objective, conclusive, scientifically supported sources available.
- Arbonne products are pH correct. The pH scale measures acidity or basicity and goes from 1 to 14; 1 being the most acidic, 14 being the most basic, and water lying right in the middle at a neutral 7. The skin is slightly acidic at 5.5., giving it a natural ability to fight bacteria (since bacteria can't grow in an acidic environment). Most North American skincare products are highly basic, rivaling pH levels of bleaches and oven cleaner! This strips the skin of its acid mantle, making it more prone to breakouts, rashes, irritantations. Arbonne products are 5.5 like the skin, helping it do what it does best naturally.
- Arbonne products are the Swiss standard of hypo-allergenic, which means we test to zero negative reactions of our products before we release them. In North America, only a shocking forty percent need to show no reactions for a product to be put on the shelf.
- Our products are also dermatologist tested (not "recommended," which just means that the doctors have been paid to endorse the product, and we also provide additional pediatrician testing for baby products. And now the last element of the Arbonne promise:
The Arbonne Promise is: To deliver pure, safe, and beneficial products in line with our botanical tradition. HOW ARE ARBONNE PRODUCTS BENEFICIAL?
- Arbonne offers premium-quality beauty, health and wellness products with targeted results. We use consumer and clinical testing to reinforce our research and ensure our proprietary formulas deliver unparalleled performance.
- There are both internal and external factors that determine how you look and feel. The environment (sun, pollution), the products absorbed into the skin, and many other external factors affect the way we look. Internally, our nutrition, heredity/genetics, biological clock, etc. are all factors in not only our appearance, but also the way we feel. Arbonne’s internal and external approach allows the body to get the total benefits of our products: We have vitamin supplements and protein shakes and natural energy tablets, etc. that when coupled with the external skincare products allow you to benefit both inside and out!
