We know EMDR therapy transforms lives in the clinical setting—but for it to reach its full potential globally; we must back every success story with rigorous; peer-reviewed data.

Research is the key to securing insurance coverage; influencing mental health policy; and ensuring trauma survivors everywhere have access to evidence-based care.

We are dedicated to providing the resources necessary for researchers to expand this impact—Will you join our mission? Your support helps us fund the studies that turn clinical observations into scientific standards.

You don't have to carry the weight of previous generations forever.

Scientific breakthroughs in EMDR show that healing your own trauma has a profound ripple effect on your entire family lineage. We study how trauma can be passed down and, more importantly, how evidence-based therapy can finally break those cycles of suffering. When one person heals, the whole family system begins to shift.

Our foundation is committed to funding research that explores generational healing and trauma-informed care for families worldwide. Your path to recovery is a gift to those who come after you.

Because of your generosity, we have been able to award over $750,000 to researchers across the globe.

This funding has fueled over 48 projects that have fundamentally changed the way the world understands and treats PTSD. From military veterans to survivors of natural disasters, your donor dollars are making a tangible difference in how trauma is processed.

Every dollar you give is a catalyst for a new discovery and a new life changed. We are so grateful for our community of supporters who believe that data-driven care is a human right. See our full impact report on our website to see exactly where your contributions go.

Talk therapy is a wonderful tool, but sometimes the brain needs a different approach to clear the "logjam" of trauma.

We’ve found that while "knowing" why you feel a certain way is helpful, EMDR helps you "feel" different at a core, biological level. Our research focuses on the neurobiology of these breakthroughs—the moment the brain finally registers that the danger is over.

By funding clinical studies, we help therapists move beyond insight and into deep, transformative healing. Every breakthrough we study is a step toward a more resilient world.

Thank you for being part of a community that values the science of change.

To the PhD candidates and doctoral students working late into the night: we see your dedication and we want to support your journey. We offer the $8,000 Sandra Wilson Memorial Grants specifically for dissertation research that advances the field of EMDR. These awards are designed to help the next generation of experts cross the finish line and bring vital new data to the clinical community. Research is the backbone of everything we do, and supporting emerging scholars is how we ensure the field of trauma therapy continues to evolve. If you are conducting a study on EMDR effectiveness, please visit our website to learn more about our student funding opportunities.

Did you know that EMDR utilizes the same biological mechanisms as your brain’s natural REM sleep cycles? During sleep, your brain processes the day's events; EMDR mimics this bilateral stimulation to help "digest" traumatic memories that have become stuck. Our funded studies explore this fascinating bridge between memory consolidation and eye movements to refine treatment efficacy. By understanding the neurobiology of sleep and processing, we can make therapy more efficient and effective for survivors. We are dedicated to uncovering the "how" behind the healing so that every session brings a patient closer to peace.

Children experience trauma differently than adults, and they deserve specialized, research-backed care that meets them where they are. We’ve established the Hope for Children Fund specifically to support research on EMDR therapy for children and adolescents. Early intervention is the most effective way to prevent long-term PTSD and help a child return to a path of healthy development. Your donations to this fund directly support studies that adapt EMDR for younger minds, ensuring that the next generation isn't defined by the hardships they've faced. Help us protect the future of our children by investing in the science of their healing today.

We often think that healing requires "grit" or "pushing through," but true recovery is actually about safely expanding your window of tolerance. When we are outside this window, our brains struggle to process information, leaving us feeling either overwhelmed or completely shut down. Our research focuses on how EMDR helps you stay grounded even when navigating the most difficult memories. By widening this window, we give the brain the space it needed to integrate past experiences without re-traumatizing the system. Understanding your nervous system is the first step toward lasting change, and we are proud to fund the science that makes this understanding possible for clinicians worldwide.

Breakthroughs in mental health often start with small, consistent acts of generosity from people just like you. We invite you to join the Visionary Alliance—a dedicated community of monthly donors who provide the steady, sustainable funding needed for multi-year research projects. Even a small monthly gift ensures that critical trauma research never has to pause. When you become a monthly partner, you are directly fueling the next wave of evidence-based healing. Together, we can ensure that every trauma survivor has access to therapy that is scientifically proven to work. Join us in building a future where recovery is possible for everyone.

Trauma isn't just a memory; it is a physical sensation stored deep within the body’s nervous system. We believe the body remembers what the mind tries to forget, which is why we focus on research that validates the somatic effectiveness of EMDR. When we understand how the body stores stress, we can better target our treatments to provide lasting physical relief. Your support allows us to fund studies that bridge the gap between neurobiology and physical wellness. By looking at how eye movements help release stored tension, we are helping thousands of people find a sense of safety in their own skin again.

Are you a researcher ready to change the world? Our $40,000 research grant is now open for applications to help strengthen the global evidence for EMDR therapy. We are specifically looking for rigorous studies that address public health priorities and help standardize effective trauma care for all. By funding high-level research, we ensure that clinicians everywhere have the tools they need to help survivors heal. If you have a project that could move the needle on trauma recovery, we want to hear from you. Visit our site to download the application guidelines today.

"I wish I could tell you that healing is a straight line up. But some days feel like two steps back. That’s actually a sign that your brain is 'digesting' heavy material. Give yourself grace. The research proves the long-term effects of EMDR are lasting, even if the middle feels messy."
