✨ Study Highlight ✨

This pilot study compares standard psychotherapy and EMDR with pediatric cancer patients in the early phase of cancer treatment, offering valuable preliminary insights into how each approach addresses stress, trauma, and coping.

These early findings help inform future research and clinical practice in trauma-informed pediatric oncology care. 📘💛

Behind every advancement in EMDR therapy is someone who believed in the power of research.

Your donations fund the studies, grants, and initiatives that help clinicians better understand trauma, refine treatment, and reach more people in need. From children recovering from early adversity to adults healing from chronic trauma—your support moves the science forward.

When you give, you’re not just supporting a foundation.
You’re supporting healing.

💙 Help us continue this essential work.

We’re honored to introduce the Hope for Children Grant—a one-time award of up to $100,000 dedicated to research on EMDR therapy with children.

This grant supports projects aligned with the EMDR Standard Protocol and aims to deepen our understanding of how EMDR can help children heal from trauma.

If you or your team conducts child-focused trauma research, this is an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Help us share this opportunity with those who can advance healing for children.

This Giving Tuesday, You Can Help Change the Future of Trauma Healing

Every day, EMDR therapy transforms lives—but the world still needs stronger research, broader access, and deeper scientific understanding.
That’s where EMDR Research Foundation steps in.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support the work that makes EMDR therapy possible for countless individuals:

Funding groundbreaking research that expands what we know about trauma, memory, and healing.
Supporting clinicians and researchers with grants, awards, and resources to improve clinical practice.
Advancing global access so more people can receive evidence-based trauma care.

Your donation isn’t just a contribution—it’s an investment in healing, hope, and the future of trauma treatment.

Whether you give $5 or $500, your support helps move the science of EMDR forward.
Donate today and help us continue building a world where healing is possible for everyone.

✨ Let’s talk bilateral stimulation.

In EMDR therapy, these gentle left–right movements help the brain process and release what it’s been holding onto. 💫

Here are some of the most common types:
👀 Eye Movements – following a light or the clinician’s hand
🤲 Tactile Tapping – alternating vibrations or taps on hands
🎧 Audio Tones – alternating left–right sounds
🦋 Self-Tapping – alternating left–right stimulation, such as the butterfly hug

EMDR isn’t about reliving the past — it’s about helping your brain finally feel safe enough to begin processing. 🌿

EMDR 101: What You Should Know

Trauma doesn’t just live in memories—it lives in the body.
EMDR therapy helps the brain process those stuck, overwhelming experiences so people can move toward healing with more clarity, stability, and confidence.

Here’s what makes EMDR different:

✨ It reprocesses trauma, not erases it.
The goal isn’t to forget the past, but to help the nervous system respond as if the danger is truly over.

✨ It uses bilateral stimulation to support adaptive healing.
Eye movements, taps, or tones activate the brain’s natural ability to integrate difficult memories.

✨ It follows a structured, safe 8-phase model.
Preparation, stabilization, and resourcing come first—long before reprocessing begins.

EMDR is evidence-based. It’s research-supported.
And for many, it’s life-changing.
