Eight Alden representatives, including our President Randi Schlossberg-Schullo, attended the first-ever Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Special guests included Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and Wisconsin Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez, who shared their inspiring journeys into public service and insights on women in leadership.

We were proud to strengthen connections with elected leaders, including Party Chair Lisa Hernandez, a long-time Alden Champion whose district includes two Alden communities.

Meaningful conversations around healthcare, leadership, and policy made this a powerful and productive event!

Alden Network leaders had a fantastic time attending the 9th Annual Forum on Post-Acute, Long-Term Care, and Assisted Living!

Our nurses and administrators enjoyed gaining valuable insights from incredible speakers like Bette Lawrence-Water, who spoke on civility in the workplace, and Lorena Amarillo, who shared important strategies around emergency preparedness. These sessions were not only informative — they were empowering.

In addition to earning CEUs, our team loved connecting with fellow professionals and exploring innovative solutions from the many vendors in attendance. Events like this help us grow, learn, and continue to deliver the highest standard of care across all Alden facilities.

The Alden Avengers were out in full force this past weekend at the 31st Annual Gibbons 5K Run & 3K Walk, proudly representing the Davidson-Brin Chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation!

It was a beautiful day to come together, raise awareness, and support the fight against blood cancers. Thank you to everyone who walked, ran, donated, and cheered us on — your support means the world as we work toward a cure!

It was a spectacular evening recognizing women like Emily and Stephanie who are making a real impact in skilled nursing, senior living, and home care at the community, facility, and corporate level!

Skilled Nursing Care Week Spotlight 🌟
This week, we’re celebrating the people who make up the heart of our community — and today, we’re proud to feature Frederick Brown.

Frederick once worked as an artist at the Chicago Art Institute, and his creativity continues to shine through his love for painting, music, and sports — especially basketball and football.

At Alden, Frederick enjoys playing games, attending socials with the activity staff, and relaxing outdoors. More than anything, Frederick cherishes his family and brings a creative, silly, and kind energy to those around him.

We’re grateful to have Frederick as part of our vibrant community!

Skilled Nursing Care Week Spotlight 🌟

As we celebrate the people who make up the heart of our community, we’re proud to shine a light on Sherrie Hightshoe — a kind, energetic, and compassionate member of Alden Lakeland.

Sherrie spent her career as a waitress in several Chicago restaurants, always driven by her passion for cooking and caring for others. Her empathy and warmth are felt by everyone she meets.

Here at Alden, Sherrie loves music and dancing with the activity staff, playing games, attending socials, sewing, and enjoying fresh air on outdoor breaks. Her joyful spirit and caring nature truly makes our community brighter.

The Alden team had an incredible presence at this year’s 63rd Annual WHCA/WiCAL Spring Conference and Expo in Green Bay!

Not only did everyone look amazing in their Alden gear, but the camaraderie amongst everyone was spectacular. Our team got the chance to network with fellow long-term care professionals and attend educational sessions ranging in topics from Improving Post-Acute Transitional Care Management to Leadership Insights and Virtual Reality Dementia training. From a sizzling and soulful Hibachi dinner to going home with cash prizes, it’s safe to say the Alden team had an amazing time from start to finish!

Yesterday, we hosted our first annual Ride for Research event with CYCLEBAR, benefitting the Davidson-Brin chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation! Not only did the Alden team enjoy an invigorating 45-minute classic ride, but we were able to raise $1,450 for Leukemia research!

Thank you to our wonderful Alden family for all the donations, support, and participation. You truly made this event memorable! We'd also like to thank the CycleBar team, and our instructor, Danielle, for a fun ride!

Nothing beats breaking a sweat and pedaling for a purpose. Until next year! 🚴‍♀️

We’re so proud of the Alden Gardens team and all they do to create meaningful experiences for our residents. This memorable outing beautifully captured the joy and sense of community that makes them special.

Another year of spreading holiday cheer with our annual Turkey Drive – officially in the books!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year's Turkey Drive supporting children and families of El Hogar Del Nino a success!

This is our fourth year working side-by-side to ensure families enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkeys and grocery bags filled with essential food items. We had an incredible day, and partnering with a fantastic team is always a pleasure.

From the support of local leaders like Alderman Byron Sigcho Lopez 25th Ward Office to the fun we had working together and the smiles we saw on the faces of families, this event truly embodied the spirit of giving and community.
