Dr. Andrea Zammit and colleagues found that lifetime cognitive enrichment was associated with lower risk of Alzheimer’s dementia and a slower rate of cognitive decline, even after adjusting for neuropathology. The theme is Our Power, Our Planet. This theme was chosen to reflect a fundamental truth: environmental progress doesn’t depend on any single administration or election. It’s sustained by daily actions of communities, educators, workers, and families protecting where they live and work.

Every individual has the power to create change. Join community cleanups, tree plantings, or peaceful demonstrations. Contact elected officials. Teach others. Make sustainable choices daily. When individuals act, communities form. When communities speak up, leaders listen.

Occupational therapy can’t prevent dementia from worsening. But an occupational therapist may help people with early to middle stage dementia maintain their independence, autonomy, and sense of purpose, which can improve their quality of life.

Find an occupational therapist by asking for a recommendation from your primary health care provider, or visit OTPotential’s online directory at otpotential.com/occupational-therapy-directory.

Find OT near me! Search for occupational therapy professionals (OTs and OTAs)—then filter by settings, focus areas, languages, and more.
