Happy New Year!!!! 🎊 💛

This is the recap for my annual New Year Intention Gathering! This one felt special and i have gained so much from the community that surrounds me. Every year, there’s so much fruit here from encouraging words and our lived experiences and energy.

Thank you for all that came and shared a part of themselves. I appreciate it always !! 🫶🏿 My friends are so accepting of my last minute-ness and helping me pull together the pieces.

Community, I need your help! 💛

I often chose a creative project to help a family in need for the holidays. This year, I am supporting a young single mom that I know professionally who is navigating pregnancy, parenting a toddler, and doing everything she can with limited support.

She is 23 years old, has a 3 year old daughter and is expecting a newborn son by New Year’s Day. She was not able to have a baby shower and is starting from scratch with newborn items.

Through Jes Do It Yourself, I’ll be gifting her a full room makeover.. so paint, decor, organization, baby essentials, and creating a space for both of her babies to share.
I’m donating my time, labor, and skill 😌 but I am calling on my village to help with the rest.

Here’s what we need :
🧸 new or gently used baby items
🍼 Diapers, wipes, baby clothes, bottles
🛏️ nursery esssntials
🎨funds for paint, supplies, decor, and storage solutions

Goal is $1,000 - $1500 to transform the space from top to bottom

Follow the process here on IG. I will put some heart in this and help this mama feel held by the community as she brings her son into the world.

Congrats to the Bakersons!! 👰🏾🤵🏾

My beautiful, talented, and creative friends tied the knot this past weekend and it was nothing short of magic. 💍

I was honored to add a few Jes Do It Yourself touches to their beautiful and well crafted day. The custom name place settings for the bridal party and for the couple and a custom cake topper were all cut with love on my Glowforge.

Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and legacy. I love y’all deep. 🫶🏿

Today is my birthday and a celebration of life!

I think this is where it all comes together… there’s so much love around me. We were blessed to lay Monty to rest today and see all the love around him. And it’s so heartfelt that today of all days was your home going. 🕊️

I want to introduce y’all to my next business venture that is my private practice: HeART Culture Therapy! .

I am beginning a journey of combining all of the things that make me me. The lover girl, the creative, the clinical therapist, the culture, the chill, the cussing, the creating spaces, writing love notes, and being a great friend. The therapist in me has to build a home for all of these things to exist and flow and be free. something that It feels like alignment. And though unfinished and imperfect, we’re going to “Jes Do It” if you will. There wasn’t any room at the current table.. so we are creating our own. 🤭

19 days into the New Year … Are we standing on business?

2024 began with a small group of my amazing friends in home talking about intentions. My word for the year is “fulfillment.” This year I am going to choose me, my joy, my mental health, and draw to the things that make me smile..while making myself smile. Putting myself first has historically been a foreign concept for me, but these ten toes are now planted. This has already began to draw me to where I need to be.

As for Jes Do It Yourself, I plan to do these pieces of my business that bring me the most joy. That is definitely the decor aspect. Gone head and speak my names in rooms of people and businesses that wish to have me make their spaces come alive.

Thinking of my next project, which will likely be for my own home & space. I’m so excited! Happy New Year, y’all. I would love to hear about what you are manifesting!

Happy birthday to Me! Having another birthday in itself is the gift!! Also, I don’t actually claim to be the Goat but i am on my way to the greatest me. The journey is so damn beautiful.

It’s A Vibe!!!

Finishing up my first interior project of this new year. Adding a few custom signs and decor items to create the vibe. I love buying decor items.. one of my favorite things to do. But creating things that you can’t find in stores is so special.

I hope to do more of it in 2023.. in bold & creative ways. 🎨💛

A dope opportunity to create … I love that for me!

Last week, I took my talents to Atlanta to begin to transform a studio apartment into an eclectic and vibrant living space. This studio will be full of colors, textures and patterns, to be as bold as my customer and her brand. The highlight of the trip was this hand painted leopard wall behind me, which is my largest custom to date.

💛💕 Custom Play Kitchen 💕💛

Here’s a play kitchen for the most precious sisters! I love this color !!! I know this is probably more palatable for that dumb “boy kitchen” social media debate. But, how about we allow kids to be as amazing as they are! Marley & Kali are intelligent, fearless, magical, and kind future world changers. They love laughing and playing!

For this kitchen, it was new and assembled with some custom additions. Check out the embossed backsplash, colorful countertops, camellia pink painted cabinets, and gold fixtures. I also created a custom name sign, engraved cutting boards, and included some colorful kitchen supplies.

So fun! I hope they enjoy this and that it gets passed along to other happy children.

3 whole years of creating! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the continued love, support, and encouragement through this journey.

Currently reminiscing on the highs and lows… from the times that I was smiling ear to ear about creating to those other discouraging times. I am reminded of the months before starting this venture when several of you told me to “use my gift!” I remember when I asked my bestie what I should name my creative business and she immediately said “Jes Do It!” I added the yourself because it’s all things DIY. She’s so clever! I remember the preparation with for marketing and branding. I remember so many gems from her setting this foundation that carry me today. I can also hear my line sis telling me to “go for it.”

So many of you have told me to keep going. You’ve brought feedback and ideas. You’ve told me to dream “bigger”. This year will be about believing in myself and this brand. I’m happy to be here and very happy to be continuing. With that said, let’s get it!
