Today is about resurrection.
Not just in scripture — but in the body.
In the breath.
In the slow return to self.

Some scholars believe “kaneh-bosm,” listed in Exodus 30:23, referred to cannabis.
And in 2020, archaeologists uncovered cannabis residue on ancient altars in Israel.

This plant has always held sacred weight.
So I made something in that spirit.

Heavy Rotation: 4/20 Edition is live now — a 26-track playlist rooted in rhythm, restoration, and ritual.

You ever find the words right after the moment passed?
Like your body knew exactly what to say, but the timing lagged?

That lag isn’t random.
It’s the system asking for support.
And sometimes that support smells like pine. Or citrus. Or lavender.

This isn’t about getting high to get creative.
It’s about catching the message while it’s still forming.
And letting the plant help it make it to the page.

Chemistry, not coincidence.
Cues for expression.

Some of us were raised around this plant.

Not in dispensaries—but in real rooms, with real people, moving through real life. We didn’t call it sacred. But we treated it that way.

That’s where we’re starting.

Day 1 of 7 Days of Blaze.
Let’s name what’s already been true.

April didn’t come empty-handed.

7 Days of Blaze returns in 2 weeks — grounded cannabis knowledge, new drops, and a 420 playlist that’s not for the masses.

If you’re in the Kaya Collective, your lineup’s already shaping up.
If you’re not… you might be feeling that curiosity rise.

This isn’t about catching up. It’s about moving different.

No jokes today. April just means we’re officially on the road to 4/20.
That’s it. That’s the post.

This month isn’t just about clicks and likes. It’s about alignment.
It’s about moving with intention—tapping into connection, healing, and community on our own terms.

Stay close.

After the Black Woman Day of Rest, we’re excited to continue our Women’s History Month series by spotlighting Dasheeda Dawson, a powerhouse in cannabis advocacy, education, and policy reform.

Known as The WeedHead™, Dasheeda () has been at the forefront of creating equity in the cannabis industry—leading initiatives that ensure Black and Brown communities have a seat at the table in a space that has historically profited off of our pain. From corporate America to cannabis reform, she’s using her expertise to reshape the industry from the inside out.

This month, we honor Dasheeda and the Black women who are breaking barriers, shifting policy, and reclaiming plant medicine.

We’re continuing our Women’s History Month series by highlighting Wanda James, a powerhouse in the cannabis industry.

As the first Black woman to own a legally licensed dispensary in the U.S., Wanda co-founded to create space for Black ownership in an industry that has historically shut us out. But she didn’t stop at business—she’s been on the frontlines of cannabis reform, advocating for equity and fighting for those still incarcerated over the same plant that now fuels a billion-dollar industry.

This month, we’re uplifting the Black women who’ve shaped cannabis culture—not just in the past, but right now.

💚 Drop a comment if you believe in equity in cannabis. Let’s keep the conversation going.

Before dispensaries, before billion-dollar wellness brands, there were Black herbalists like Emma Dupree. She wasn’t a doctor, but she was the one people trusted when they had nowhere else to turn.

Born in 1897, she didn’t have a medical degree, but she had something just as powerful—ancestral knowledge of plant medicine. When her community needed care, she answered with remedies passed down through generations, proving what science is only now catching up to: nature heals.

Her name isn’t in the history books. But it should be.

This Women’s History Month, we honor the Black women who shaped cannabis culture—not for profit, but for survival. Emma’s legacy lives on in every herbalist, advocate, and healer reclaiming plant medicine today.

Tag a healer in your life. Let’s honor those keeping the tradition alive. ✨💚
