Shaun is home and resting comfortably. We got discharged on hospice care. Sadly the tumors have continued to grow. Please feel free to share happy memories, stories or messages to Shaun on our various pages. We truly appreciate everyone's support throughout this crap. With that support we did get the rent paid today, so thank you for that. I cannot say thank you enough.

I also cannot guarantee my ability to make posts as often, kinda busy living as much as we can. Please keep sending positive thoughts our way.

We get to go home today.
We still need rent help.
I've got 524 in the bank and need 1275 to make rent and after today i have to pay a 15 dollar a day late fee. I have not heard anything from the uic social worker about rent help. Please share to help us lighten this burden and donate if you can.

Saturday. Shaun is still in the hospital. They started him on the new pain management meds yesterday, today will be his first full day on them. He is doing ok. Just wising this could go fast so he could come home. We are still looking at 5 or 6 days at the hospital still. They need to monitor his response to the new meds and make sure he is not in major pain. And its a slow process. We still need help making the rent payment, we have 345 total in our bank and rent is 1275 and due the 5th. Please keep sharing our story and donate if you can.

Happy Lumpy to Stumpy day! 1 year on and we are still fighting strong. Keep fighting Shaun Pollard we love you!

Shaun is lump free! Surgery was 100% perfect. Fast, no additional blood needed, he woke up well in recovery and was awake alert and happy when he came back to his room. He does have a epidiral for pain management and a button to push when it hurts. So they let me stay for about an hour after he came back and drank some tea but he was tired and still recovering from the anesthesia. I'll be back again first thing tomorrow. Please hold off on massaging Shaun for a day or so while he adjusts and manages his pain level. Thank you. We love you all. Today Shaun went from lumpy to stumpy and we are so relived. And we got Shaun gloves for PT tomorrow.

It is coming up on the one year mark for Shaun's amputation.
Not really a fun anniversary but here we are.
Shaun is currently back in the hospital working on getting his pain under control.
It has been a struggle the past few weeks but we are in the right place. Its just stressful, no one likes hospital stays.

Rent is due Friday and we have not heard if we will be getting any financial support though UIC. It adds to my stress. So If everyone could please keep sharing our story. And donate if you can. We need help making our rent. Thank you.

Busy week ahead. Shaun enjoyed visits from his family this past week and weekend. We are so grateful for all they help us with. Shaun sadly is still in alot of pain, hopefully they can help tomorrow. Tomorrow we have a CT exam and then Friday is the next round of infusions and dr visits. Its hard to think that just about a year ago Shaun lost his leg and now we are truly in the fight for his life. This week has a lot hanging on it and it is heavy. The scan tomorrow will tell the drs the next step. Shaun and I are still hoping there are steps left. Heavy. We belive in our Doctors as much as we belive in miracles and the power of prayer/positive thoughts. Please keep sending the good vibes our way. It has not been an easy week. Shaun is doing ok ish but managing his pain has been tough. The meds he was on where to heavy for him, so trying out something different. I think his tumors have also gotten bigger. Its a tough balance. Shaun's appointment got rescheduled to next Friday the 1st. Which is also his next chemo infusions. Monday he has a CT scan. We are waiting to here if we get rent help but we won't know till the 1st. So we need some help. Rent is 1275 and we have 358 in the bank. Please keep sharing our story and donate if you can.

Wednesday. Shaun's palliative dr visit went well. Had to send Shaun's meds back to a UIC pharmacy as walmart out by us keeps playing games. But we got the meds and got home. Shauns numbers have improved, his platelet count is back up, and he is really feeling better and better every day. Our next appointment is next Thursday with Dr G, ot was gonna be the next infusion but shaun decided to push it back an extra week so may 1 will be next infusion instead. Gives Shaun longer time to recover and hopefully not end up back in the er after treatment. Fingers crossed for us. We are looking forward to nice weather and finally getting somethings planted this weekend. Please keep sharing our story and donate if you can. Thank you!

Monday.
Had a great weekend resting, and Shaun's brother stopped by. It was a good time.
Shaun is felling better day by day. His cellulitis is basically gone and he can fit in to a normal sized compression sock again.
His next appointment is on Wednesday for blood labs and a palliative dr visit. Nothingt to much. We are enjoying the rest for sure.

Thursday. Shaun had a follow up appointment today. Just a quick nurse visit and stab lab. Shauns numbers are improving with exception to his platelet count which has gone down. But he is feeling better today. Yesterday was tough, Shaun spent the morning puking and finally started resting more towards evening. His drs upped his pain meds and it seems to be working, less pain longer sleep sessions. Our next appointment is next Wednesday with palliative care. Looking forward to that visit as we dial in the meds. Otherwise we are in rest mode. Both of us are quite tired and need to catch up on sleep this weekend.
