Do you love SWEETS like I do?!
In the July issue of Connection I write about one of my favorite topics โ sugar! ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ
Thereโs no getting around the fact that sugar is seductive, enticing and addicting, but there are some smart ways to be savvy about adding sugar into your every day eating.
As a registered dietitian nutritionist who helps people navigate the sweet food world daily, here are some of my tips and tricks:
โ Use plain yogurt and sweeten with fresh or frozen fruit and drizzle with honey, maple syrup or agave nectar. ๐ซ ๐
โ Add berries, cut fruit and/or fruit purees to cereal, cottage cheese and salad dressings. ๐
โ Create your own coffee drinks with milk, your favorite sweetener and a dash of cinnamon, cocoa or nutmeg. โ๏ธ
โ Enjoy dates and/or figs as a sweet treat. ๐
โ Flavor sparkling water with a twist of lemon, lime or a splash of 100% fruit juice. ๐ ๐โ๐ฉ
โ Craving ice cream, cake or brownies? Enjoy a small amount of the REAL deal. ๐ฆ
A good rule of thumb with sugar is: Downsize, donโt deprive. ๐
