As a board certified OBGYN, I used to take pride in saving a patient from hemorrhage, saving them from ectopic pregnancies, or saving a baby from a shoulder dystocia. For the last decade, I shifted my practice to s*xual medicine and menopause and now I improve my patients’ quality of life . It’s so nice to get these notes this week as I continue to sit in grief and wonder about life and what we are doing here on this planet. I have always been driven by my mission to help women along the way both personally and collectively. So when I received a beautiful card by an artist patient to help my healing , a note from a patient who struggled for so long with a complex condition Needing my s*x detective skills who felt helpless and unheard and is now improving , or a student that spent a month with me that was shortened due to my loss (and is now inspired again) all within a week, I feel fueled and I feel like I will continue my mission as my mother would have wanted . There is peace in gratitude and I feel grateful for being able to do what I do. And these notes hit home for me *xdetective

Thank you for featuring this piece on your blog . It’s very important to understand the different ways different cultures and ethnicities appreciate and experience menopause and it’s so interesting the stigma associated with the concerns and burden of health on different races and ethnicities . Please find someone who can navigate your journey with you understanding the above , including how women’s experiences differ and if you are a clinician , please understand these differences , the lack of adequate data we have in so many of these populations , and the need for precision medicine in treating your patients of every background

What an amazing week for menopause and amazing event in chicago by . We literally had people fly in from all over the United States and different countries as well!!!! It was a lively discussion with top experts in the field, many who have been advocating for mid life women long before the recent craze! Women are hungry for information and are tired of getting gaslit and discounted !!!! We are all after , as says “keep me out of nursing home” plan and as says we need to be benefactors not burdens on our next generation and children . We want to live healthy lives and keep ourselves active and as contributing to society as long as possible. Long gone are the days of being . Midlife women are warriors and will continue to lead women with intention and be fierce doing it . Shout out to and for giving midlife women a voice and being brave enough to stand up with them . Amazing time with amazing friends and colleagues .maki and had a great time celebrating this weekend as well as a NYT bestselling author!!!!!
