π₯ FATHER GOES OFF on the Frederick County (MD) School Board over policies that push LGBTQ ideology on CHILDREN, hide information from parents, and allow biological males into female sports and restrooms.
This was calm.
This was measured.
And it was absolutely devastating.
Hereβs what he told them β straight to their faces:
"My name is Jeffrey Balkin. My wife and I have lived in Frederick since 2015. We've got twin ten-year-olds that attend public school here. My son is a type one diabetic with a 504 plan, and even those clear medical instructions haven't always been followed, so it's put his health at risk. That alone makes it hard to trust the system, and Policy 443 only deepens that concern, and I'll tell you why. We send our kids to public school for a strong academic education: reading, writing, math, scienceβnot for discussions about gender identity in elementary school. Our daughter knows she's a girl, our son knows he's a boy. Raising our kids is our job, not the school system's. They are our children, not yours. Policy 443 opens the door for schools to withhold important information from parents. That's absolutely unacceptable. The school calls us over a small scrape, yet something as significant as a gender concern could be hidden? Parents are the ones funding these schools, and parents deserve full transparency every single time. I do not want my children speaking with mental health professionals, guidance counselors, or outside partners without our consent. I want the ability to opt them out of social-emotional lessons and full access to what's on their Chromebooks. There should never be secret QR codes giving them private access to mental health services. I am making a formal PIA request for all family life and human sexuality lessons in their grade, along with all social-emotional learning materials. As a father of both a son and a daughter, I expect their private spaces to remain protected. Biological males should not be in a female restroom, and biological females should not be in male restrooms. In other districts, ignoring this has led to sexual assaults. If anything like that has ever happened to my children, I would hold every responsible party accountable. I want to know how you plan to protect restroom privacy and sports teams so that my kids are never put at risk. I'm completely opposed to FCPS keeping secrets from parents and to allowing opposite biological sexes into private facilities, both permitted under Policy 443. I'm urging you with absolute sincerity to use common sense and reject this policy. Thank you."
