Eight Alden representatives, including our President Randi Schlossberg-Schullo, attended the first-ever Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Special guests included Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and Wisconsin Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez, who shared their inspiring journeys into public service and insights on women in leadership.

We were proud to strengthen connections with elected leaders, including Party Chair Lisa Hernandez, a long-time Alden Champion whose district includes two Alden communities.

Meaningful conversations around healthcare, leadership, and policy made this a powerful and productive event!

Alden Network leaders had a fantastic time attending the 9th Annual Forum on Post-Acute, Long-Term Care, and Assisted Living!

Our nurses and administrators enjoyed gaining valuable insights from incredible speakers like Bette Lawrence-Water, who spoke on civility in the workplace, and Lorena Amarillo, who shared important strategies around emergency preparedness. These sessions were not only informative — they were empowering.

In addition to earning CEUs, our team loved connecting with fellow professionals and exploring innovative solutions from the many vendors in attendance. Events like this help us grow, learn, and continue to deliver the highest standard of care across all Alden facilities.

The Alden Avengers were out in full force this past weekend at the 31st Annual Gibbons 5K Run & 3K Walk, proudly representing the Davidson-Brin Chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation!

It was a beautiful day to come together, raise awareness, and support the fight against blood cancers. Thank you to everyone who walked, ran, donated, and cheered us on — your support means the world as we work toward a cure!

Skilled Nursing Care Week Spotlight 🌟
As we continue to celebrate the people who make up the heart of our community, we’re excited to spotlight Frank Reynolds — a kind and thoughtful presence here at Alden.

A Chicago native, Frank enjoys reading, praying, listening to music, and lending a helping hand to others whenever he can. From the very beginning, he felt a sense of comfort and connection at Alden — especially during activities where he’s surrounded by people and uplifting programs.

Frank shares that the nurses, CNAs, activity aides, and even his restorative therapist have made him feel truly at home — and for that, he’s grateful.

We’re honored to have Frank as part of our community.

Skilled Nursing Care Week Spotlight 🌟
As we celebrate the people who make up the heart of our community, we’re proud to highlight Carmela, whose compassion and dedication truly shine in everything she does.

Originally from the Philippines, Carmela is passionate about cooking and cherishes the time she spends sharing meals with her family. She describes those moments as the best bonding time of all.

At work, Carmela brings that same warmth and care to her role. Her nurturing spirit allows her to build meaningful, supportive relationships with residents and their families. She sees working in long-term care as an act of love — one that gives her the opportunity to truly connect and make a difference.

We’re grateful for Carmela and the heart she brings to our Alden community.

We’re celebrating Nurses Week with extra love and gratitude! 💙 This week, our residents at Alden Northmoor surprised our amazing Assistant Director of Nursing with a heartfelt farewell celebration. After 15 dedicated years at Northmoor, she’s transferring to Alden North Shore as Director of Nursing—and while we’ll miss her dearly, we’re so proud of her next chapter! 🩺🎉

A big thank-you to Chris and Robert at Jewel-Osco (Harlem & Foster) for their generous cake donation, and to our thoughtful residents for organizing such a sweet sendoff. 💐🎂

The Alden team had an incredible presence at this year’s 63rd Annual WHCA/WiCAL Spring Conference and Expo in Green Bay!

Not only did everyone look amazing in their Alden gear, but the camaraderie amongst everyone was spectacular. Our team got the chance to network with fellow long-term care professionals and attend educational sessions ranging in topics from Improving Post-Acute Transitional Care Management to Leadership Insights and Virtual Reality Dementia training. From a sizzling and soulful Hibachi dinner to going home with cash prizes, it’s safe to say the Alden team had an amazing time from start to finish!

Yesterday, we hosted our first annual Ride for Research event with CYCLEBAR, benefitting the Davidson-Brin chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation! Not only did the Alden team enjoy an invigorating 45-minute classic ride, but we were able to raise $1,450 for Leukemia research!

Thank you to our wonderful Alden family for all the donations, support, and participation. You truly made this event memorable! We'd also like to thank the CycleBar team, and our instructor, Danielle, for a fun ride!

Nothing beats breaking a sweat and pedaling for a purpose. Until next year! 🚴‍♀️

Another year of spreading holiday cheer with our annual Turkey Drive – officially in the books!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year's Turkey Drive supporting children and families of El Hogar Del Nino a success!

This is our fourth year working side-by-side to ensure families enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkeys and grocery bags filled with essential food items. We had an incredible day, and partnering with a fantastic team is always a pleasure.

From the support of local leaders like Alderman Byron Sigcho Lopez 25th Ward Office to the fun we had working together and the smiles we saw on the faces of families, this event truly embodied the spirit of giving and community.

We had a fantastic time celebrating Halloween! The creativity was spooktacular. Staff and residents got in the spirit with vibrant costumes and a festive party complete with live music! It was an amazing time had by all!

This past weekend, our residents had a fantastic time at Wagner Farm in Glenview! They indulged in delicious apple cinnamon donuts, fed and petted the adorable farm animals, and explored the outdoor market. The highlight of the day was picking out pumpkins for our facility!
