You don’t actually see people… you see what your nervous system recognizes.

Every person you look at is filtered through you….your story, your wounds, your past, your patterns. So no… you’re not just seeing me. You’re seeing what I activate in you.

If I feel distant, it might brush up against your abandonment. If I feel intense, it might feel like the kind of “love” you were taught to chase. If I feel safe… you might not even trust it because safe was never familiar. That’s the part no one talks about.

We think we’re reacting to each other in real time…but most of the time, we’re reacting to ghosts. Old love. Old pain. Old versions of ourselves that never got resolved.

The mind is fast. It fills in the blanks, writes the story, decides who someone is before they’ve even had the chance to show you. That’s projection. It protects you… but it also distorts everything.

So it’s not just you and me here…it’s your past meeting mine. Your wounds brushing against mine. Two people silently asking…are you going to hurt me the way they did? And that’s why connection feels so confusing sometimes.

Because your body can react to something that isn’t actually happening but feels completely real. The work isn’t to shut it down. It’s to slow it down. To get honest.
To get curious.

To ask….”Is this about what’s happening right now… or what I’ve already lived through?”

Because the moment you can separate the person in front of you from the story behind your eyes…you start to actually see.

And that’s where real connection begins..not in projection…but in presence. 🔥🔥🔥
