Cibolo Fire Dept. and Schertz Fire Department in accordance to automatic aid agreemets responded to a two-story working structure fire on Zoeller Way in Cibolo.
The fire originated in the kitchen and was actively burning upon arrival. Cibolo Engine 10 made entry and began fire attack while additional units arrived.
Multiple search operations were initiated, with Cibolo Truck 20 conducting a search of the second floor, followed by Schertz Engine 1 conducting a search on the first floor. A victim was located on the second floor by Cibolo T20 and assisted by Schertz E1 to remove the victim from the structure through a window, then down a ladder. Schertz EMS was requested to the Alpha side for patient care.
The fire was brought under control, declared controlled, and crews completed secondary searches, confirming all clear and complete extinguishment of the fire.
Through dedication with in-house training and the external training our Cibolo firefighters go through throughout the year, this SAVE was possible!
