Today is Audacity to Hope Day. And whew… if that ain’t the work we do, every single day.
To be a Black birthworker is to dare to hold space for joy, healing, and safety in a world that too often denies our people those very things. It’s to show up — again and again — in systems that weren’t made for us, yet still pour out care that’s sacred, radical, and real.
We carry the audacity of our ancestors. We show up with the hope that the next generation will be born into better. We choose to believe that our presence changes outcomes — because it does.
So today, I’m holding space for every Black birthworker who’s tired but still shows up. For those navigating certification, hospital access, Medicaid drama, or just trying to be seen. For those who are fighting for space and holding it with grace.
We are the Audacity. We are the Hope. We are the shift.
Let’s keep building. Let’s keep breathing life into a better way.
