🔬 WORLD EMBRYOLOGIST DAY!
Ever wonder whose arm you get a glimpse of through that little window in the IVF transfer room? Embryologists are seldom seen by patients but play a critical part of the IVF process. At IRH, we are fortunate to have incredibly talented Ovation Embryologists to serve our patients. They find and count eggs at retrieval then ICSI/inseminate when timing is appropriate. After watching the embryos grow for a few days, they carefully choose the best ones for transfer. Many patients endearingly refer to our embryologists as their baby's "first babysitter"! They are also responsible for freezing embryos and performing genetic testing when necessary.
Happy World Embryologist Day!

"When we met at age 17, we always knew that one day we’d want to start a family. What we didn’t know was that, more than a decade later, our journey would lead us to IRH.

After six rounds of IUI and one miscarriage, we found out we were pregnant. IRH was there to celebrate that incredible moment with us and to share the exciting news that we were expecting twin boys!

We are so grateful for the education, support, and kindness we received throughout our IUI process. The level of care from the staff at IRH is truly unmatched. We are forever thankful IRH was part of our journey to parenthood!"

"Following two years of infertility and seven unsuccessful medicated cycles, we were referred to the Institute for Reproductive Health in January 2023 — a turning point in our journey that we will forever be grateful for.

With the guidance of Dr. Michael Awadalla and the support of the nurses, PA’s and CNP’s, we felt truly cared for every step of the way. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise gave us strength and hope during one of the most challenging times of our lives.

After 3 failed IUIs, we moved forward with IVF. On October 27, 2023, we transferred one of our seven frozen embryos — and miraculously, that tiny embryo became our daughter.

On July 6, 2024, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world and somehow we are about to celebrate her first birthday. Words will never be enough to thank the incredible team who helped make her possible. You gave us hope when we felt defeated and helped turn our dream into reality. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!"

"Becoming parents was our dream. After years of trying I finally received testing to confirm the cause of my infertility. It was a devastating blow to learn we could not conceive the naturally. Thankfully, after speaking with friends and colleagues we were referred to IRH and had a renewed sense of hope. Dr. Sherif Awadalla was so patient and kind. He reviewed my records, answered all of our questions, and showed such immense compassion throughout the IVF process. Our first successful embryo implant resulted in the birth of our oldest son. Dr. Thomas Burwinkel was our doctor for our second successful embryo implant, that resulted in the birth of our youngest son. Dr. Burwinkel was just as amazing--very compassionate, knowledgeable, and kind. The entire IRH staff is truly remarkable. We are blessed beyond measure to have our boys and cannot thank the IRH team enough."
